Luxury begins with exceptional materials, thoughtful craftsmanship, and a commitment to better sleep. This elegant primary suite showcases the Aspen® Luxury Firm Mattress from Denver Mattress, designed for discerning sleepers who value premium support, natural materials, and long-term performance.
As the flagship mattress in Denver Mattress's Luxury Collection, the Aspen® Luxury Firm combines sophisticated comfort with a supportive sleep experience designed to help promote proper alignment and restorative rest. Crafted with premium materials and attention to detail, it delivers the elevated feel expected from luxury mattresses while maintaining the enduring quality required for years of exceptional sleep.
The room's rich textures, tailored furnishings, soft neutrals, and statement upholstered bed create a refined retreat focused on wellness and relaxation. Every element works together to create a space where comfort, craftsmanship, and timeless design take center stage.
Designed for those who understand that great sleep is one of life's most valuable investments, this bedroom demonstrates how luxury materials and thoughtful design can transform a room into a true sanctuary.

In a small bedroom, consistency and symmetry can create a sense of calm while making the space feel more orderly and visually open. Matching nightstands and plug-in sconces frame the upholstered bed, establishing balance without requiring additional furniture or decorative layers.
The bedding was intentionally kept clean and simple, with a single long body pillow replacing an arrangement of smaller decorative pillows. This restrained approach reduces visual clutter and gives the eye space to appreciate the vintage artwork and personal objects displayed throughout the room.

This extensive project involved both an addition and a full renovation of a beautiful 1920s Craftsman home. By adding 200 sqft of living space to the back of the house, we created a stunning primary bedroom complete with a walk-in closet and a luxurious bathroom. Originally a 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom house with a less-than-optimal layout, the reconfiguration resulted in a spacious 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom home, making better use of the available space.
The guest bathroom now features a tub surrounded by subway tiles and a marble herringbone floor. Elegant wainscoting paneling and subtle floral wallpaper add a touch of sophistication. The primary bathroom showcases a corner walk-in shower with Celine and Marin tiles from Bedrosians. A custom marble slab forms the shower dam, and the herringbone floor design enhances the luxurious feel. Classic brass fixtures and an arched mirror flanked by sconce lights add timeless elegance.
The primary bedroom boasts long, narrow windows that flood the room with natural light. In the nursery, a colorful wallpaper creates a cheerful and vibrant atmosphere. The entire home underwent a comprehensive upgrade, including a new roof, an energy-efficient HVAC system, and a complete overhaul of the plumbing.
Custom molding and casing details around doors and windows faithfully replicate the home's original 1920s design, showcasing exceptional finish carpentry skills. In the hallway, custom cabinets were created to conceal the laundry machines and provide convenient folding and storage space. The exterior addition required custom siding work to match the original siding and trim, preserving the home's historical character. Oak hardwood flooring was refinished and replaced where needed.
The overall design of this project is a testament to craftsmanship, featuring numerous custom details and intricate work that honor the home's original character while updating it to meet today's luxury standards. This Craftsman revival beautifully blends historical preservation with modern elegance, creating a timeless and inviting home.

When a world class sailing champion approached us to design a Newport home for his family, with lodging for his sailing crew, we set out to create a clean, light-filled modern home that would integrate with the natural surroundings of the waterfront property, and respect the character of the historic district.
Our approach was to make the marine landscape an integral feature throughout the home. One hundred eighty degree views of the ocean from the top floors are the result of the pinwheel massing. The home is designed as an extension of the curvilinear approach to the property through the woods and reflects the gentle undulating waterline of the adjacent saltwater marsh. Floodplain regulations dictated that the primary occupied spaces be located significantly above grade; accordingly, we designed the first and second floors on a stone “plinth” above a walk-out basement with ample storage for sailing equipment. The curved stone base slopes to grade and houses the shallow entry stair, while the same stone clads the interior’s vertical core to the roof, along which the wood, glass and stainless steel stair ascends to the upper level.
One critical programmatic requirement was enough sleeping space for the sailing crew, and informal party spaces for the end of race-day gatherings. The private master suite is situated on one side of the public central volume, giving the homeowners views of approaching visitors. A “bedroom bar,” designed to accommodate a full house of guests, emerges from the other side of the central volume, and serves as a backdrop for the infinity pool and the cove beyond.
Also essential to the design process was ecological sensitivity and stewardship. The wetlands of the adjacent saltwater marsh were designed to be restored; an extensive geo-thermal heating and cooling system was implemented; low carbon footprint materials and permeable surfaces were used where possible. Native and non-invasive plant species were utilized in the landscape. The abundance of windows and glass railings maximize views of the landscape, and, in deference to the adjacent bird sanctuary, bird-friendly glazing was used throughout.

The client was building a new family home in Macduff and wanted a modern, functional kitchen. The primary requirements were a large peninsula and tall units integrated into the wall.
We selected furniture from the Nolte Soft Lack range in Deep Blue and Papyrus Grey to meet the client's desire for a modern look. The colour scheme offers a balanced contrast that adds visual interest to the kitchen.
A 20mm thick Dekton Opera worktop with a mitred waterfall end panel serves as a striking feature upon entry and was chosen for its durability as well as aesthetics. We equipped the kitchen with a full suite of NEFF appliances, including a single oven, combi microwave, warming drawer, gas hob, ceiling extraction, full-height fridge, full-height freezer, and dishwasher.
Additional features include a Blanco Subline single bowl undermounted sink in white and a Quooker Fusion Round Chrome instant boiling water tap. Quickstep laminate flooring was installed for its durability and design.

"Aging-in-Place in Style" is the story of a senior couple nearing retirement and wanting to remodel their main bathroom for aesthetics, functionality, and safety.
Like most homeowners who remodel, figuring out the budget is a big challenge that requires fully transparent collaboration among all parties. It also takes patience, thoughtfulness, and, well, as they put it "A pretty good sense of humor."
This particular remodel came with an even bigger challenge—a large built-in Jacuzzi-type tub positioned in a square space, which is notoriously difficult to design around. We had one of our top designers on it, however, and he came through in style, creating a very efficient, bright universal design to accommodate these homeowners now and far into the future.

Birds Hill Rustic is a custom residential project located in the beautiful acreage setting of Birds Hill, Manitoba. The home is engineered as a highly efficient hybrid timber frame residence, demonstrating how structural pragmatism can meet luxury design. The architecture strategically utilizes stunning, exposed heavy timber framing in the primary living spaces—delivering maximum architectural impact, soaring volume, and warmth exactly where the family gathers. Meanwhile, secondary areas utilize conventional framing. This hybrid approach perfectly balances budget and breathtaking craftsmanship, allowing the homeowners to experience the distinct character and permanence of a timber frame without the requirement of a full-structure build.

Design:
For this young Boulder family, the goal was simple: bring their home in Old North Boulder into alignment with their day-to-day.
The spaces were generous, but they felt dated and inefficient. The primary bathroom, in particular, had plenty of square footage but lacked intention. The mudroom functioned, but barely. As part of this Boulder home remodel, the focus wasn’t on adding more space; it was about using the space they already had more thoughtfully.
In the primary suite, the vision centered on creating a retreat that felt restorative and refined. A freestanding tub and shower brought softness and openness, but the true focal point was the custom sauna, a feature the homeowners were especially excited about. The design blends aesthetic warmth with everyday function, transforming what was once an oversized, underutilized bathroom into a spa-like escape.
Throughout the remodel, the guiding principle was balance: elevated design paired with real-life durability for a busy family household.
Build:
Because the rooms already existed, we maintained the original footprint and focused on improving flow and efficiency. This approach allowed us to modernize the home without unnecessary structural changes–a strategic move within this Boulder home remodel, and one that kept costs under control.
In the primary bathroom, we reworked the layout to better utilize the expansive square footage. The sauna was seamlessly integrated alongside the freestanding tub and shower, creating a cohesive, calming environment rather than disconnected features. Every element was positioned with purpose, turning a previously inefficient plan into a highly functional and luxurious daily retreat.
The mudroom was approached with equal intention. Designed for everyday transitions like coming in from the garage, managing backpacks, shoes, dog gear, and Colorado weather, the updated space prioritizes smart storage and organization. It now supports the rhythm of family life rather than working against it.
The result is an interior transformation that feels fresh, efficient, and deeply personal, a Boulder home remodel that proves meaningful change doesn’t always require expanding walls, just rethinking them.

High-end Multifunctional Shower
Separate controls and shower heads handle bathing needs for sitting and/or standing positions. The generous glass-framed space has been, in part, created by the installation of a pocket door which, by design, requires no swing clearance. Large wall tiles with a brushed finish are color coordinated with the mosaic tile floor. They contrast nicely with smaller tiles in the blue toned accent strip. Comfort is provided, even on the coldest days, by the heated shower floor, seat and rear wall. On the left, the black lacquer framed mirror brings visual balance to the setting overall. Grab handles are at the ready. Aging in place. Aging in style.
