IGLOO - Fontana Arte www.softsquare.com Igloo represents the great innovation in hanging spotlights. It is in fact a modular, self-supporting lighting system that, thanks to a series of electromechanical connections with curves and spacers, allows for consecutive linking of up to two hundred units without the need for any additional power cable. This gives the lighting designer the possibility of creating open, flexible compositions. The double shell in self-extinguishing plastic technopolymer allows for easy installation of the units, whether vertically or horizontally and in either case allows for the designer to choose uplighting or downlighting during installation. The system consists of linear and curve conjunctions, spacers, mechanical hanging and of wiring elements. Igloo therefore ensures versatile, infinitely replicable modularity. The system uses LEDs as the light source and is suitable for contract installation in the retail, hospitality, office and business sectors, where compositions can be as complex or as simple as required or in homes, with a more decorative effect. Versatility is the key to this product as it makes diffused lighting possible in rooms of any size and can meet any lighting requirement. Specific LED dimmers can be used for the Igloo element and relative systems. www.softsquare.com

Our clients wanted to utilize this particular area of their home and really give it a function. It has been many things over the years: bonus room, dining area, etc. The kitchen is the natural gathering spot. They wanted to create a space that was an extension of the kitchen for entertaining and serving family and friends. Architect, Cynthia Karegeannes was hired to draw up plans for a mudroom to corral the couple’s two dogs and stash the pet’s leashes, treats, etc. A large butler pantry was imagined with a full size refrigerator, prep sink, dishwasher and custom cabinetry to have items handy for entertaining. Innovative Construction, helped finalize the details and implemented the plans for the new addition. Interior Designer, Beth Weltlich with The House Dressing worked with homeowners, to select materials and finishes to unify the areas of the existing kitchen and the new spaces. A custom banquette was created with room under the staircase so that all of the space could be utilized. Furniture and accessories are still in the works as the homeowners let the area evolve to see exactly what their needs are. A collaborative effort-for sure! The challenges included creating three separate areas (mudroom, banquette and butler pantry) with storage and versatility in one existing space. Having this additional space that was not always utilized, the homeowners feel the new addition will become an integral part of the families' living area.

This modern credenza would make the perfect storage cabinet in nearly any environment. It is handcrafted by us here in the USA utilizing only the highest quality materials and it’s made to last a lifetime. It sits atop a black platform base (wrapped in vinyl to give a little texture). The raised geometric pattern of the doors add a touch of modernism. It is a very versatile piece and would be well-suited as a modern TV stand/console, credenza, buffet, or stylish sideboard. Behind each door you’ll find an adjustable inner shelf for maximum flexibility. Push-to-open doors eliminate the need for handles or knobs on the front so as to not distract from the stylish, modern look of the doors. In addition to making these in many different widths and heights, we can also build yours in nearly any configuration. Want a more “open”, “airy” look? We can make yours with an open middle section (meaning doors only on the outsides). Or, need drawers? We can do that as well! It is shown here in rich brown walnut, but yours can be made in any of the woods shown on our wood options page. Other door colors are available as well. For a more vintage look, consider our vintage orange doors. Or, for a more Hollywood glam look, go bold with our gold! See our other items for examples in different color and configurations. Looking for a more mid-century look? Take a look at this unit with our tapered, gold spindle legs as opposed to the platform base. For many years of trouble-free use, we use only top-of-the-line hardware (hinges, push to open mechanisms) from Blum and Salice. Only the highest quality furniture-grade veneers are used as well. Like any natural material, expect some slight variations in grain and coloration. Using this to store electronic devices that need power? Let us know and we’re happy to add holes in the back for cables to exit for no additional charge. Need a different width? Yours can be made with any number of doors. Dimensions: approximately 82.75" wide x 19" deep x 25.25" high . (The dimensions are the exterior dimensions of the cabinet. The patterns on the doors will extend slightly past the cabinet) Model: Regency (shown in walnut with white doors and platform base). Please inquire for information and pricing on any changes you would like. We also create many other custom pieces in this and other styles, so, please contact us if you are looking for conference tables, credenzas, industrial office shelving, or any other furniture. We would love to discuss how we can work together to design a unique piece to fit your needs! We were well underway in the process of constructing a mixed-use building in Portsmouth’s downtown when suddenly, things changed. We were approached by a couple interested in purchasing the entire site. The building’s street-level design would remain as originally planned – 2 small retail condos for let. The rest of the structure would need a quick reassessment and redesign to not affect the current construction schedule. The 2nd floor was redesigned to be one large, residential condo. The third and fourth floors would become the couple’s private quarters. They were relocating from a suburban neighborhood to the center of town, yet still hoping to maintain a sense of home for their large family with a strong connection to the outdoor space. The third floor would serve as the home’s main living space. A formal entrance with historic charm was created through varying ceiling heights, and exposed beams. Unique transition spaces were built, leading into an open concept living, kitchen and dining area with access to a series of back decks overlooking a more private street and the park. The fourth floor, tucked into the roof line, would house a master suite, 2 more bedrooms, laundry and additional ‘landscaped’ deck areas. Unique, typically under-utilized areas and architectural elements were assigned creative uses to maximize the project’s flavor and objective. The elevator override cavity became a substantial storage closet on the fourth floor. The building’s firewall was extended and a decorative brick archway was added to connect the outdoor areas of the original side-by-side condos. A flat roof area, snug against the adjacent property’s blank brick wall, complete with pergola and sun shade, was designed to be a secluded, landscaped patio overlooking the back neighborhood. This project exemplifies the quick change in direction and unexpected surprises that can come of new ideas through collaboration. - See more at: http://sommastudios.com/project/58-state-street/#sthash.NmdjMeY6.dpuf
