This beautiful family room and kitchen eat in area is in the heart of the home. We chose a gorgeous linen fabric by J.P. Baker in a style that would enhance but not detract from the light and the view from the windows. Swags and Romans were chosen alternating the "upbirds" with the down birds. Dead space above the side windows were filled with beautiful rosettes by Paris Hardware in a Rold Gold. The rich linen floral and bird fabric was enhanced by the contrast fabric in Cinnabar. The results: beautiful!!

Very full with lining and interlining swags, tails and drapes were made from heavy beautiful fabrics with original trim and tiebacks. Drapes and tails are made with contrast lining. Sheer scarfs on side windows installed with rosettes. Slipcovers and pillows were created by Solomonic Couture.

A family room/kitchen eat in area was in need of finishing touches on the windows. Two relaxed romans on each door and a triple swag with jabots in contrast fabric and rosettes in Rose Gold set the tone as you enter this beautiful heart of the home. Continued in the family room a triple relaxed roman, two smaller romans and double swags and jabots flanked the center window. We loved the up birds on the Swags and the down birds on the romans! This green and gold chenille drapery on decorative pole and rosettes is the perfect treatment for these french doors. The Marge Carson table and chairs add to the rooms elegance.

My lovely clients asked during our first meeting to embellish and finish the windows, yet keep the light and view to the backyard. The negative space on either side of the crescent window bothered my client. After careful consideration, double swags with jabots in contrast fabric were hung from three rosettes in rose gold. J.P. Baker fabric called Eleanors Chinese showcases birds in upright and downward position. To continue the large area from family room to kitchen eat in area, we alternated relaxed romans with the swags.
