Everything is controlled using the Control4 SR260 Universal remote or the 10" Touch Panel in the kitchen. For the app fanatics, the Control4 app allows 100% control from any mobile device.

This large family room off the kitchen is the hub of the home. The 65" Frame TV from Samsung is above the fireplace but scales well with the room. This outdoor media system uses a weather proof Samsung Terrace flat panel. The TV was flush mounted with the hardware recessed into teh wall so you don't see any brackets or wiring. Paired with the TV is wall mounted outdoor speakers and in-ground subwoofer from Origin Acoustics. There is an additional audio zone for the main deck entertaining area. Both media zones can operate independantly or as a single zone. This is great for entertaining kids outside while the parents enjoy music. The outdoor lighting extended from any existing Lutron Radio Ra2 control system. User has a keypad to activate wall sconces, under rail lights, landscape lights, and up lights mounted in the canopy the large oak tree. All systems (TV, audio, lighting, cameras) are controlled from a single app by Elan. Users can use a remote or their phone to operate the TV, lights and audio. We also integrated the backyard irriation within the same app.

This home is automated with Control4 home automation. All equipment for video sources and control are located in an upstairs closet. The homeowner wanted a multi screen setup in his home but did not have a dedicated game room. This family room now consists of a 60" Samsung LED with 2 - Samsung 55" LED's flanking it. The outside televisions are on articulating arm brackets so they can sit flush with the center television due to the fireplace wall projecting out an additional 8". All televisions are operated seamlessly with an iPad using the Control4 App. There is also a full in-ceiling surround sound system. Additionally this home is completely automated for all background music, lighting, thermostats, security cameras and security alarm. brian hugghins

Get smart. To outsmart kids prone to leaving lights on, the Lutron Maestro motion sensor automatically turns lights on and off, and to set the mood lighting, the handy Lutron Caseta Wireless controller dims lights and raises and lowers blinds while iDevices switches wirelessly control the Robert Abbey Delta Emerald Glazed Table Lamp and floor fan, while the heat and AC are controlled by a Honeywell Lyric thermostat. Both wireless controllers and the thermostat respond to app or voice commands by Amazon Echo, which can also play music, update a Google calendar, report the news, and even read the kids a story. The family can play it safe anywhere in the home with Samsung smartthings hub home monitoring kit which sends alerts via app if anyone passes a sensor or opens or closes a connected door or window.

This project won in the 2013 Builders Association of Metropolitan Pittsburgh Housing Excellence Award for Best Urban Renewal Renovation Project.
