In the corner of this pastel nursery, we used my client’s existing glider and side table and added in some fun artwork pieces and a velvety soft throw blanket. The room has such beautiful natural lighting, so we opted for these lace detailed curtains (she plans on training the baby to sleep with light in the room). One of my favorite parts of this nursery design is the rug. My client loved this mint medallion rug, and the colors and pattern worked perfectly with the design. Since we wanted this nursery to be mostly neutral with some pastel accents, I opted for unpainted, natural wood furniture paired with white for an eclectic feel and decided on these great pieces from Oeuf. A wood beaded pendant hangs from the ceiling and mirrors the natural vibe. The crib bedding is super simple with just a patterned sheet. "Raymond and I love our outdoor wrap-around porch in the summer. Because I decorate it like a house outdoors it creates the comfort of a southern home with surrounding gardens that are bursting with color and nature and fresh smells everyday. You can't help but want to sit and drink your coffee there in the morning and soak it all in. You smell the Lake Erie breeze and hear the waves crashing; its so serene." We started by painting a feature wall with Benjamin Moore Antiguan Sky which instantly brightened up the space. We made our very own artwork using colored pastel crafting paper bought and inserted it into white frames we already had. Swapping artwork is an easy way to change your décor for the holidays or as the seasons change. When we hung our pictures, we kept the spacing consistent between each to keep the look calm and relaxing. The combination of the white IKEA desk, lamp, chair and picture frames creates a bright fresh and feminine feel for the space. The trendy floral pillow and turquoise stool give the room the right punch of color and elegance. And of course, a vase of fresh flowers is always a perfect finishing touch for any room. ®UTRdecorating
