Bend Craftsmen Company LLC was founded in 2012 by Hank Hill. Bend Craftsmen Company operates as a residential and small commercial General Contractor and also offers carpentry, custom woodworking and project management services.
Bend Craftsmen Company’s mission is to provide a unique, creative approach to solving clients’ needs; listening to, visualizing and creating your dream space. Whether it’s building a piece of furniture, surprising your partner with a new “room makeover”, overseeing your whole house or partial house remodel, or building your new dream home, Bend Craftsmen Company wants to be there with you and provide a comfortable, pleasant experience along the way. We are dedicated to customer satisfaction and producing a high quality finished product in a timely, efficient manner.
Hank brings nearly 20 years of professional experience within the building industry. Growing up in South Carolina, Hank was surrounded by other family members who had a passion for building and woodworking. Whether helping his dad build a new coffee table for the family room or helping his uncles build a new deck on a beach house after a hurricane, Hank developed a sound sense of building and fine woodworking. This passion naturally led to working as a finish carpenter and eventually project manager for a Design/Build Remodeling Company in Charleston, SC. There, he also volunteered with the Charleston Stage Company, building sets for performing arts productions and attended the American College of Building Arts, fine-tuning specific craftsman skills. In 2007, Hank couldn’t resist his draw to the Pacific Northwest and moved to Bend for the small town living, outdoor splendor and great community. Hank is certified by Earth Advantage as a Sustainable Homes Professional and is a regional leader in sustainable, energy efficient building practices. When not building something, Hank enjoys snowboarding, kayaking and heading to the coast to catch a few waves. Hank is active in both the paddling and arts communities in Bend, and has donated time to the 2nd Street Theatre building sets. Hank is surrounded by his loving wife, Amber, wonderful daughter, Aidaleen, and dog, Wyatt.

Project Homeworks takes a balanced approach to their job: clients needs, trends and budget. At Project Homeworks we value and respect our clients and strive to produce pleasing results for them and their environment in an efficient and timely manner.
Cyndi began her decorating experience working for a specialty home decor and linen store, where she found her interest growing towards window displays for the company.
Over the years, she honed her skills of interior design, such as colour and balance, through building several of her and her husband's homes. This grew into a business and Project:Homeworks was born in 2000. After several lottery houses, showrooms and private residences, Cyndi continues to find enjoyment and satisfaction in creating a warm environment for Project:Homeworks clientele

Our client bought her apartment a while ago, since the place needed a renovation we were there to make her dream come true.
In this project we demolished the kitchen, the bathroom, we ripped out the old floors, we added new light fixtures, in some areas we added new gypsum wall boards, all walls were skim coated.
It was a one bedroom apartment with living room, one bathroom and kitchen.
In this case, we did not change the layout. Starting from the kitchen, we removed old cabinets, old appliances, old floor.
The new electrical panel had to be relocated to the hallway, it was in the kitchen previously behind the cabinets, in accordance with the local laws, it could not stay there.
In the kitchen remodeling our client got beautiful custom made white shaker style cabinet fronts with some special detail, beautiful white Carrera stone counters, grey subway tiles in the backsplash, under mount dimmable cabinet LED light, ceiling slim recessed dimmable LED lighting, the new tiled niche under the window, the tiled floor that was set in herringbone pattern and stainless steel appliances.
In the bathroom, the old bathtub stayed in its place, we only had to resurface it.
New white glossy subway tiles were installed on the walls. We built for her custom made bathroom vanity and medicine cabinet. On the ceiling, we added slim recessed dimmable LED light and one light above the medicine cabinet.
In the living room, we installed new gypsum wall boards on the ceiling and on the wall due to severe cracks. On one of the walls, we added two beautiful wall sconces. In the bedroom we built custom made closet with four doors; the closet interior was made of walnut veneer, the closet doors, as well as the rest of the new doors within the apartment, were fabricated in the same style/ design. The closet equipped with motion sensors, once you open the closet door the closet became illuminated; we used dimmable LED strip light inside. We used white oak wood floor planks with natural, polyurethane matte finish.
Moreover, we installed new baseboard, door and window casing molding, wall picture molding and crown molding in the kitchen. You be the judge and tell us how we did. We want to hear some feedback from you.
Basically, we built her new custom-made kitchen with lots of drawers, custom made living room closets with shelving units, custom bathroom vanity, custom build in unit with drawers in the lower part and doors in the upper section.
All units interiors were made of pre-finished maple and outside lacquer finished was matched with Benjamin Moor paint color with more glossy sheen. Overall, the project was finished with total client’s satisfaction.

Located just north of Highway 24, the neighborhood of Hiller Highlands was rebuilt shortly after being ravaged by the 1991 Oakland fires. The client, who is an artist, recently purchased her two-bedroom, 2-1/2 bath townhouse on Treasure Hill intending to completely renovate the interior before moving in. Her goal was to have a home that reflected her eclectic and modern aesthetics; working with Mackey Builders, Inc., she was able to realize her vision.
Updating the kitchen was a top priority for the owner, as she is a gourmet cook. Collaborating with Stacey to create a design that was streamlined and functional, she chose quartz countertops and a natural stone backsplash to replace the ceramic counters and backsplash original to the home. She exchanged contractor-grade appliances for a Miele double oven, cooktop, and dishwasher, and purchased a Sub-Zero refrigerator with a glass door. Open shelving was integrated into the design so that the owner could display her beautiful ceramic collection. When designing the kitchen's custom cabinetry, Stacey chose a horizontal wood grain to balance the room's high ceilings. He also suggested removing a small bar area in order to expand the kitchen.
Amber Flooring was brought in to resurface the hardwood floors and the Mackey Builders team replaced windows and doors, upgraded the lighting, painted all interior walls, and installed more modern trim details. In the master bath, guest bather, and powder room, they installed new quartz countertops, sinks, and custom cabinets. Bathroom walls were hand-plastered in neutral tones that show subtle variations in color.
In the living room, the wood-burning fireplace, mantel, and built-in shelving were removed and replaced with a sleek high efficiency gas fireplace set into a wall of black large format tile. In keeping the owner's eclectic taste, a new stair railing made of custom-milled maple, wire rope, and acid-etched steel was designed and built. Because the owner loves to draw, Stacey came up with the idea of painting a wall in the dining area with blackboard paint and framing it. He then added a ceramic skull and lights; the finished product is a unique and changeable art installation that is also a focal point for the room.
While this project began as an interior remodel, it expanded to include a fence and siding replacement.

Our clients envisioned a complete basement renovation that would transform the space into a functional and inviting area. We began by thoroughly understanding their needs and preferences, ensuring that every detail was aligned with their vision. The project involved installing spray foam insulation to enhance energy efficiency and comfort. We carefully removed existing partition walls to accommodate the new design, seamlessly constructing and installing new interior walls. Our team provided and installed updated electrical and plumbing services, ensuring everything met current codes and specifications. To create a comfortable environment, we introduced a new HVAC zone, seamlessly integrating it with the home’s existing system. The renovation included the construction of a new bathroom, kitchen, office space, and living area, all tailored to the client’s specifications. Attention to detail was paramount, with custom shelving and vinyl plank flooring adding both functionality and aesthetic appeal. Throughout the project, we maintained open communication, ensuring the clients were informed and satisfied with every step. Our dedication to excellence and client satisfaction resulted in a beautifully renovated basement that perfectly matched the client's vision. At Homeowner Services of Michigan, we are committed to bringing your home renovation dreams to life with precision, care, and a focus on your needs.

The term “forever home” is often used to describe a house that portends to meet all of one’s current and future needs. Attaining such a residence often entails moving from one’s current home, leaving behind years of memories. We had the satisfaction of collaborating with a client to make their existing home into their forever home with smart adaptations that will allow them to age in place…in the house and neighborhood they love.
The site is challenging in that the front of the home is perched atop a steep incline, and the home is primarily entered via a more accessible alley in the back. Thus, the home has two “fronts.” The existing low-slung ranch/bungalow had suited this couple for many years. However, newly retired with more free time, the couple sought to create a more gracious home to enjoy entertaining indoors and out, hosting guests for extended stays, and exploring their artistic sides in a proper studio space. A successful project would be a home filled with natural light that allowed them to age in place. A “happy house.”
Inspiration for the design was found in the owners’ love of 1920s Arts & Crafts bungalows and bright colors. The existing home provided design cues, such as a porch with stucco columns and shallow arches that had been concealed by a previous renovation. Building upon that, we proposed to reconfigure the roof into a cross-gable to maximize interior space on the second floor while increasing the home’s contextuality with neighboring ones. A new primary bedroom suite with bathroom, his and hers closets, and a dressing room for the lady of the house were created. To maximizing versatility, the dressing room can also be utilized as a guest room. The balance of the second floor includes a hall bathroom and large office, gallery walls to display artwork, storage areas, and even some private meditation spaces with doors hidden behind bookcases.
A first-floor addition expanded the casual dining room into the rear garden and created a new art studio. To imbue the middle of the house with light, skylights were introduced over the existing stair; new screened stairwells, inspired by the work of Louis Sullivan, filter the natural light.
Acknowledging practical issues of aging in place, all openings were designed to allow easy passage by a wheelchair, and bathroom accommodations include grab bars and roll-in showers. Additionally, a small first floor bathroom was expanded and, along with an adjacent bedroom, will allow for single floor living if necessary.
Exterior detailing was again influenced by the Arts & Crafts tradition: deep overhangs, brackets, and tapered columns. New cedar shingles were installed, the original porch restored, and the low arch motif was re-introduced into the design. A new garden of native plantings with an outdoor room anchors the house in the landscape.
While one never truly know what the future holds, creating their “forever home” gives the inhabitants peace of mind that they can live in this place that brings them joy and gives them comfort now and, in the days, to come.
