Inspiration for an eclectic dining room remodel in Kansas City

This client came to us looking for some help decorating the living/dining room and master of his new Chicago condo. Over the past few years, we have decorated most of the space together - great room, master bedroom, guest room, hallway, office, powder room and paint/wallpaper throughout. Our design was uniquely inspired by our client's sentimental and eclectic objects and art, such as the vintage Europe map in the living room, his grandmother's antique lamp and English pub sign in the office, and family airplane ephemera in the master. We added peacocks in the powder room and mixed prints in the master for a textured look unspecific to any era that flows with the rest of the home, but is definitely its own oasis. Painted White Reclaimed Wood wall paneling clads this guest sleeping space in an Oregon cottage. The beams above the bed are weathered gray Douglas Fir sourced from Anthology Woods. A library ladder provides access to the storage loft above, and the vaulted space has a reclaimed wood feature wall. Generous windows bathe the space in bright natural light.

Timeless Modern Design is Blackdoor's signature. This custom floating walnut vanity with trough concrete sink and countertop is highlight with a high gloss porcelain tile wall and under glow lighting. The glitz of chrome fixtures and sconces are subdued with playful greenery throughout the bathroom. Everywhere you look there is something beautiful!

In the corner of this pastel nursery, we used my client’s existing glider and side table and added in some fun artwork pieces and a velvety soft throw blanket. The room has such beautiful natural lighting, so we opted for these lace detailed curtains (she plans on training the baby to sleep with light in the room). Our client's guests will be green with envy that they don't have this room in their home! Inspired by an existing landscape painting, this room screams outdoors. The custom made bed adds texture to the green walls. This room also doubles as an office space. Wouldn't you want to work in this room?

This small but mighty kitchen is designed for efficiency of space! Complete with pull out trash and recycling receptacle and wine cubby. The green and white arabesque backsplash is a POP of color against the classic white cabinets. Matte black hardware ties in the modern, black appliances. This kitchen is small but efficient!

A bit of bling in the lounge! These Four Hands chairs add pop of color and luxury to this customized space and tie in the Hollywood gold bookshelves. Designed as a conversation space, Tamra combined textures to make it cozy and the fireplace tiled to the ceiling creates a unique centerpiece.
