Carly did an amazing job for us. She took our basic concept and transformed it into something we could not have conceptualized on our own. We also appreciated how Carly stayed in control of various contractors and saw the project through to completion. Carly has a great sense of design and we hope to find another project with her soon.

We worked with Carly at Unpatterned on our kitchen remodel and had a great experience. Our kitchen needed a significant facelift and Carly developed a design plan that makes it look like an entirely new modern and sophisticated kitchen while staying within our budget and reusing appliances and pieces where possible. We updated our counter tops, backsplash, sink, lighting, cabinet hardware, wall and cabinet color and some decor, however my favorite part of the kitchen upgrade is the custom fireplace feature she designed for us. We went from a standard fireplace surround to floor to ceiling tiles with a large mantle and shelving. We get so many compliments on this feature as it enhanced the entire look of the kitchen. Working with Carly was very easy. She is skilled at understanding her client's style and pushing them appropriately to think beyond their normal boundaries without projecting her own style onto them. We found her very responsive and flexible and appreciated her ability to work well with our general contractor as well as the vendors that she recommended. We highly recommend Carly for any type of interior design project. You will not be disappointed.

This is our third project with Unpatterned (first was designing a nursery, second was redoing a bathroom). On this project, we renovated a previously unfinished basement. Unpatterned helped with some initial ideas for layout what served as the basis for our project and then helped with design elements. I had a very specific vision in mind for certain rooms (mudroom) and then wanted a lot more creativity and input for the main entertainment area. Carly is a great listener- she takes in what you want out of space and then provides a range of options from the conservative but also includes options that push you as a client a bit (which I really appreciate). Without her eye for detail, my spaces would end up looking like a replica straight out of a magazine. She's knowledgeable about materials from different forms and price points and overall so much fun to work with. Highly recommend.

Having consulted with her on interior design in a professional setting in the past, my husband suggested that we leverage Carly at Unpatterned for her design expertise in the renovation of our home (gut rehab). I’m very glad we did. Carly sat down with us for an initial consultation to familiarize herself with the scope of our project, get a sense of our initial ideas/tastes, and outline the numerous ways she can work with clients. Throughout the process, we leveraged Carly for everything -- cabinets, countertop selection, backsplash, flooring, design sketches for custom built-ins, tile, grout, paint colors, furniture, light fixtures, hardware, rugs, etc. Although she always listened to and incorporated our ideas into her design proposals, Carly was not afraid to bring her own ideas to the table and often got us thinking about and looking at design ideas we would never have come up with on our own. In many cases, we liked her ideas were better! We also benefited greatly from the many relationships that Carly has with various vendors, as she was able to achieve us some very meaningful designer discounts that more than made up for any fees that she charged us for her services. Throughout it all, Carly was very professional, proactive, and responsive. She is a pleasure to work with. We are beyond pleased with the final outcome. I highly recommend Carly at Unpatterned for anybody looking for an interior designer. Carly was a pleasure to work with on my living and dining room. She listened to my needs and understood my budget. Her sense of style, decisiveness and responsiveness helped move the project along quickly. She worked hard to incorporate existing pieces and bring in new ones. She also has connections to local upholsterers, fabric stores and other vendors that saved money and time. Carly’s aesthetic is truly unique and I love how she brings new life to old furniture and accessories. We have received so many compliments on the chairs that she helped us reupholster and the paint that she selected. Our house is 100 years old so her background as an architect was key in understanding the house and respecting the era that it was built. I look forward to working with Carly on more projects in the future and cannot say enough wonderful things about her.

Carly has an amazing eye for details. I was fortunate to have her consult on my condo in Chicago which needed a creative uplift. I had a small corner space with shelving but basically no other function near the entrance. She recommended removal of the shelves then adding wallpaper and a sofa table. It turned out beautiful and was very inexpensive. In the bathroom, Carly helped me streamline the design by removing bulky cabinets and updating lighting. Again, the space was transformed on a budget and ended up looking larger. I sold this condo recently and I have no doubt that the value was increased as a direct result of Carly's design input. I recommend Unpatterned to anyone with a space that needs an update/creative edge.
