Open floor plans allow you to get creative with the uses of a space. Blackdoor by TC added a bar to the entryway, complete with a luxe, gold accent mirror to make the best use of this space. The clients use this area to entertain often, so while it is not a typical use for the space, it made sense for our clients.

This client came to us looking for some help decorating the living/dining room and master of his new Chicago condo. Over the past few years, we have decorated most of the space together - great room, master bedroom, guest room, hallway, office, powder room and paint/wallpaper throughout. Our design was uniquely inspired by our client's sentimental and eclectic objects and art, such as the vintage Europe map in the living room, his grandmother's antique lamp and English pub sign in the office, and family airplane ephemera in the master. We added peacocks in the powder room and mixed prints in the master for a textured look unspecific to any era that flows with the rest of the home, but is definitely its own oasis.
FUN FACT The whole color scheme of the office started with that antique lamp.

Custom molding on the walls adds depth and drama to the space. The client's bold David Bowie painting pops against the Sherwin Williams Gauntlet Gray walls. The organic burl wood table and the mid-century sputnik chandelier (from Arteriors) adds softness to the space.

While updating the entire first floor to hardwoods, the client wanted to take advantage of updating the half bath. Due to the inward swinging door, we were confined to utilize a very slim vanity to allow for passage to the toilet area beyond. The client did not want to use a petite pedestal sink so I recommended an antique piece which would fit the specifications we were looking for. Immediately, she recalled a piece she already had in a bedroom which was a cherish piece from her childhood. A perfect fit! She was thrilled to renew the aged cabinet and bring it back to life in her newly renovated half bath.
