Inspiration for a mid-sized craftsman guest carpeted bedroom remodel in Boston with yellow walls

TAC Home Remodeling was established in 1986 servicing Northern & Central Jersey, specializing in the design, planning and installation of custom decks. This was soon followed by doors, windows, siding patio enclosures and then we expanded into kitchens, baths and much more.

Both the master bath and the guest bath were in dire need of a remodel. The guest bath was a much simpler project, basically replacing what was there in the same location with upgraded cabinets, tile, fittings fixtures and lighting. The most dramatic feature is the patterned floor tile and the navy blue painted ship lap wall behind the vanity. The master was another project. First, we enlarged the bathroom and an adjacent closet by straightening out the walls across the entire length of the bedroom. This gave us the space to create a lovely bathroom complete with a double bowl sink, medicine cabinet, wash let toilet and a beautiful shower.

The classically detailed arched doorways and original wainscot paneling in the living room, dining room, stair hall and bedrooms were kept and refinished, as were the many original red brick fireplaces found in most rooms. These and other Traditional features were kept to balance the contemporary renovations resulting in a Transitional style throughout the home. Large windows and French doors were added to allow ample natural light to enter the home. The mainly white interior enhances this light and brightens a previously dark home. Architect: T.J. Cape Cod; Dennis, MA This Cape Cod-style bathroom combines a classic color palette with refined details to create a tranquil and sophisticated space. The vanity is a standout feature, painted in a subtle sage green with polished metal hardware, which provides a gentle contrast to the room's lighter tones. The countertop is a clean, white solid surface, and the sink is paired with a sleek, polished chrome faucet. Above the vanity, a rectangular mirror with a distinctive black-framed geometric pattern adds a modern yet classic touch. Open concept kitchen - contemporary single-wall open concept kitchen idea in San Diego with open cabinets and white countertops

We built this bright sitting room directly off the kitchen. The stone accent wall is actually what used to be the outside of the home! The floor is a striking black and white patterned cement tile. The French doors lead out to the patio. After tearing down this home's existing addition, we set out to create a new addition with a modern farmhouse feel that still blended seamlessly with the original house. The addition includes a kitchen great room, laundry room and sitting room. Outside, we perfectly aligned the cupola on top of the roof, with the upper story windows and those with the lower windows, giving the addition a clean and crisp look. Using granite from Chester County, mica schist stone and hardy plank siding on the exterior walls helped the addition to blend in seamlessly with the original house. Inside, we customized each new space by paying close attention to the little details. Reclaimed wood for the mantle and shelving, sleek and subtle lighting under the reclaimed shelves, unique wall and floor tile, recessed outlets in the island, walnut trim on the hood, paneled appliances, and repeating materials in a symmetrical way work together to give the interior a sophisticated yet comfortable feel.
