This was a renovation project for a 12 year old girl who outgrown her nursery style bedroom and desired new more grown up look with some blue colors and gold accents. We started with selecting a gorgeous chandelier to add some charm and character to the room. We've decided to keep the pale blue walls and add some striking accent colors in bedding and other accessory. We've placed a custom made monogram in navy/teal color and repeated this color in a new shaggy area rug and velvet euro shams. We have added brand new sheer curtains with a gold/grass hardware and repeated these finishes in wall art on the adjacent wall and also placed a desk lamp in gold/brass on the desk. We have repositioned the desk from a different wall and placed by the bed to serve as a nightstand and as a better homework space by the window. The bedding added lots of interest in patterns, color and texture.

This cornice is covered in raw silk with black beaded fringe. it is the same color as the walls, which blend with the top down bottom up honeycomb shades. The ceiling is a lighter shade of the cornice and decorated with a wallpaper border, pulling the room together and giving interest and depth to the ceiling. Photo by j guigue
