SHE, yes she, is a Scientist.
Her Goal in Life- to help Find a cure for Cancer.
She moved from the Bio-tech Epicenter of Boston to create a New one in New York.
She also Loves Art and Architecture.
She found a former Coconut Processing Plant that had been turned into a Leed Certified Contemporary Loft.
Enter HOM. to Create her new HOM.
She is busy. So it must be Fast, Efficient and Flawless.
The Foyer Starts with a Coat of a "slightly" darker Shade of the Same Cool Blue used in the Main Great Room.
The Art is the Color. Everything else "spins" from it- Accessories to Pillows to Side Chairs.
A Long "communal" table is used for both Large Dining / Gathering....and also for large work projects.
Jeweled Lighting adds just a "hint” of glamour while keeping everything else...Clean and Spare.
An Antique Mid-Century Cabinet adds a warm counterpoint to the mostly Italian designer furniture..
The Bedroom/ Bath en-suite changes the Mood.
It becomes a soft soothing sybaritic chamber in cool calm colors that bathe the body to sleep.
The Drapes from her Boston home were recut, resewn and rehung.
Fresh, relaxing Art, and the Chamber is a place to cocoon from the world of Science.
But no matter how long she works and how determined she is all day... At the end she has her HOM.

Renovating a home to sell can be a smart investment, however it is important to ensure that the finishes will appeal to most people.
We went with a contrasting light and dark theme and added texture by introducing grooved panels to the feature walls.
The exterior was refreshed by choosing colours that work well with the surroundings.
The staircase became a feature on entry and really draws anyone inside.
Kitchen and Bathrooms were kept neutral but were opened up to ensure that they feel light and bright and spacious.
The carpet is soft and warms up the upstairs lounge and bedrooms as well as the large rumpus or second lounge space on the ground floor.

Bathroom - contemporary cement tile floor and pink floor bathroom idea in Santa Barbara

This gorgeous home, situated in the Commonwealth subdivision of the Galisteo Basin Preserve, was designed to accommodate the beautiful but sometimes harsh weather of the Basin. Built around an inner courtyard, buffered to the somewhat inclement conditions, it allows for seasonal year around enjoyment. The floor to ceiling windows, European Reynaers Aluminum, were imported from Ireland, and appear as glassy walls that disappear into pocketing doors ensuring magnificent wraparound views.
The grand entrance, encased with an oversized custom steel and brass entry door, with glass side panel and transom, open up to soaring illuminated recessed lit ceilings. Porcelain tile floors seamlessly transition between interior/exterior. An impressive 3-sided Ortal fireplace provides warmth and coziness encapsulating the entire great room. The excellence of the materials and exclusive nature of the finishes are expressed in a tailored and sophisticated manner.
The 4,332 heated per square foot home is designed with two Master Suite wings that spin off the main great room. The state-of-the-art kitchen is sleek and spacious with an expansive island comprised of Elegant Brown granite countertops, luxury modern Italian Poliform custom cabinets and high-end Gaggenau appliances. The home has a highly efficient engineered heating/cooling system with heat radiant floors and Unico air conditioning.
A detached guest casita/art studio sits adjacent to the main house, on a lushly landscaped protected courtyard. The exterior landscaping is organically integrated into the natural terrain, incorporating a bocce ball court, walking labyrinth, sculpture and water features.

After researching several builders in Santa Fe and then interviewing the ones of interest, we decided on Will Prull as he seemed to instantly connect to what we wanted and how to achieve it. He was also highly recommended by our architect. Our Project Manager was excellent and helped us make decisions that creep up between the plans and the actual building. Our house won the AIA award in 2016 for Santa Fe. When choosing your builder, the most important thing is that your Project Manager understands your direction and has your best interests at heart. Our's did!

This Loft was tastefully renovated back in the '90s, but was due for an update and an expansion of the kitchen and dining areas to accommodate the client's cooking skills and entertaining needs. EnlargIing the island and adding cabinetry to delineate the office, bar and dining areas was a priority. The bathroom was updated to feel like a tranquil spa with beautiful new tile, plumbing fixtures and cabinets. Our biggest challenge was coordinating the entire renovation while our client was out of town for the Summer!
