With family life and entertaining in mind, we built this 4,000 sq. ft., 4 bedroom, 3 full baths and 2 half baths house from the ground up! To fit in with the rest of the neighborhood, we constructed an English Tudor style home, but updated it with a modern, open floor plan on the first floor, bright bedrooms, and large windows throughout the home. What sets this home apart are the high-end architectural details that match the home’s Tudor exterior, such as the historically accurate windows encased in black frames. The stunning craftsman-style staircase is a post and rail system, with painted railings. The first floor was designed with entertaining in mind, as the kitchen, living, dining, and family rooms flow seamlessly. What started as an addition project turned into a full house remodel in this Modern Craftsman home in Narberth, PA.. The owners of this beautiful 2-family home in Ridgewood were dissatisfied with the existing enclosed staircase and sought to achieve an open layout with a modern staircase design. To fulfill their vision, a new staircase was meticulously designed, fabricated, and installed, featuring a stunning wood finishing and elegant railing, seamlessly connecting the first floor to the basement and second floor. Additionally, a framed double swing door was skillfully incorporated, providing access to a newly created closet space in the basement. Notably, 2MO's innovative designer devised a creative solution for integrating the existing column in the living room, resulting in a cohesive and harmonious aesthetic. We designed custom cabinetry (built and designed to look original) into the space that fit the homeowners’ design style while providing the additional storage and counter space they needed and matched the home’s original architecture. Our lead carpenter’s talented skills allowed us to custom-design and match the existing trim in the newly remodeled areas, preserving the home’s architectural integrity.

What a treat it was to work on this 190-year-old colonial home! Since the home is on the Historical Register, we worked with the owners on its preservation by adding historically accurate features and details. The stucco is accented with “Colonial Blue” paint on the trim and doors. The copper roofs on the portico and side entrance and the copper flashing around each chimney add a pop of shine. We also rebuilt the house’s deck, laid the slate patio, and installed the white picket fence.
