This built-in was a small part of a project that coincided with some modern hand railing and ladders.
We played around with some interesting lines through the design process.
The result was this geometric abstraction design back panel (all built in reclaimed Ash) meant to draw attention to a space that could have been stark.
The objective of this design also needed to be functional.
We incorporated a tiered offset reclaimed Ash shelf unit that allows the light to fall through and tastefully illuminate the records.
The slatted feature below is a cover panel for the lower space housing electronic (i.e. router, external hard drive…).
Its built with 3/4″ reclaimed Ash slats resting in laser cut slots in the steel rails.
The space allocation between each slat allows for air movement for the electronics.

Description: Installation of Mechoshade motorized screen roller shades throughout this residence. This property is on a corner lot and therefore needs privacy from all 4 sides. The client installed a Control4 system and incorporated the window coverings into the project by way of the Mechoshade IQ motors and wireless zigbee cards.
The installation included a 1% open screen fabric for all bedrooms to provide both privacy and some ambient light within these rooms. A 3% open screen cloth was used for all living spaces to reduce heat and glare while maintaining a comfortable level of lighting and views throughout the home.
This installation also incorporated the new Mechoshade corner bracket system which staggers the roller shades into the corner, (one above the other) to reduce the light gaps down to less than 1”. Considering that the windows had only silicone between the glazing in the corners, this bracket was paramount in maintaining the best degree of privacy possible. A custom MDF pocket was created at the ceiling (approx. 10” deep) to house the shading system. Combined with a custom painted aluminum closure panel at the bottom of the shade pocket, the shades were barely visible thru a narrow slot at the back wall when they were in the opened position.

Details like the quartz counter with a beveled edge and clipped corners as well as a slotted toe kick instead of floor grill for ac and heat distribution. Using elongated slim hardware handles on a euro style door will add a more contemporary feel to this transitional kitchen. I wanted to give more depth to the island , so by using a soft grey color with flat panel doors, Balances the white shaker of the L shaped kitchen

This Euro Style Kitchen was designed with DeWil’s Horizon Cabinet line, is an European full overlay in their ”Sirius” door style, in maple wood stained in color 112 Sandstone, which features contrasting “flip-up” doors in their color 108 Ebony stain. Each glass door has a semi-opaque architectural decorative glass window in them.
Every inch of space we utilized in this kitchen. Every place has a purpose like the corner we created a special place for my client to store her kitchen-aid mixer. an appliance garage with tambour roll up door for appliance store and also a mail slot from outside for their mail to arrive.
