The basement bedroom got quite a makeover with the white oak floors, but the piece de resistance is the vintage pencil reed bed with brass finials. An oversized tapestry showcases olive green poppies in a brass frame, and the accompanying gold swing-arm sconces with pleated shades add a cool factor.

The basement office doubles as a mudroom and is quite cheery thanks to the continuation of the rope-like tile floor and the greenish teal beadboard lower walls. The antique desk was distressed by the owner, and she retrofitted the mirror from a former gable window. A poplar ceiling gave this space an extra foot in height compared to the previous drop tile ceiling.

The powder room was an addition to the 1st floor, as there previously wasn't one. A British-made pinecone wallpaper adorns the walls, and the granite vessel sink is displayed on a magnolia stump base from the owner's childhood home.

This staircase is an excellent addition to this cabin's great room. The custom log railings and step accents really tie it in nicely with the rest of the house.

Inspiration for a rustic home design remodel in Nashville

The upstairs bedroom boasts a lovely original fish painting from a Memphis artist to keep with the lake setting, and fits in perfectly next to the cowhide cheetah print full-length mirror. The oversized gold dresser pulls and the Ralph Lauren lamps yield a sense of sophistication to the space.

This tiny home cabin is colorfully decorated in pastels and hippy tie dye. The futon goes perfectly with the decor because the wood of the frame and the purple futon cover match so well with everything else.

Staying in bed is easy in this bedroom thanks to a stellar lake view seen from the rooftop deck, which is outfitted in Cumaru wood floor tiles. A woven headborad gives a nod to a nautical lifestyle, and the gold details continue in this space in the double arm sconce above the heardboard and in the rattan fandelier.

Vintage boat oars were collected for the ceiling and look sharp against the white oak floors and pine walls in the sleeping loft. The gold detail in the bed is carried over from the primary bedroom.

The upstairs bathroom got a full makeover with a new tub accentuated by a skinny sage green tile, a marble niche in various shades of green and frameless French shower doors. The "X" pattern in the floor tile pairs nicely with the herringbone pattern of the tub surround.

A cowhide zebra print chair looks apropos next to a vintage carved teak elephant from Thailand, and a Moroccan-style rug just adds to the eclecticism. The woven floor lamp makes this the perfect reading spot.
