A striking organic Westside Village Master Bathroom Remodel where handmade materials take center stage. Rich red handmade fireclay tile lines the walk-in shower with artisanal character, while natural stone flooring brings an earthy groundedness to the space. A freestanding soaking tub anchors the room, framed by natural wood tones and polished nickel finishes. Starphire ultra-clear glass panels complete the suite with seamless transparency – a space that feels both curated and completely natural.

Despite physical disabilities that limit his financial opportunities, Allen wholly devotes himself to making intricate and beautiful papercut works. He says that his motivation to create work is to “keep busy and make people happy.”
Each of Allen’s pieces is made with a single sheet of black paper. He chooses to create his work out of paper because it is inexpensive. He explains, "You don’t mind if you mess it up. If you do, then you just crumple it up and get a new piece of paper." Allen’s artwork takes incredible patience and vision. He loves selling through ArtLifting because it allows him to to share his vision. He says, "It makes me feel good when people enjoy what I do."
Allen can often be seen riding around Boston finding inspiration for his latest artworks. If you see him around, he encourages you to say hello!

The Rochman Design Build team transformed another garage into a gorgeous space. For this project, we tore down a detached garage of our clients’ Ann Arbor Hills home and built a new 2 story garage & Study addition. On the ground floor there is a 1 car garage plus an exercise room. The 2nd floor is a large study which will have custom bookcases, a vaulted ceiling, and lots of day light. We also built a patio on the back where our clients can have breakfast and entertain. The patio is
connected to the garage with beautiful brick pavers. There is a covered walkway between the house and the garage / Study. Following immediately with a 2nd project, Rochman Design Build moved from the garage and study addition on this Ann Arbor Hills colonial to the main house. This whole house remodel included doing a whole new kitchen, mudroom, powder room and butler’s pantry on the first floor. On the 2nd floor, we changed one entire side of the house into a large and beautiful study / office with a Juliette balcony, renovated the bathroom, and reconfigured the master bathroom including additional work in the remainder of the master suite.

From the plum-brown limewashed walls to the curated mix of antique and contemporary elements, this en suite primary bath exudes quiet luxury. The inspiration for this space began with the early 20th century English washstand. The warm wood, Carrara marble top, and striking backsplash featuring original Racing Green pool glazed tiles set the tone for the rest of the room’s materials palette. To help transform the piece into a functioning modern day vanity, we added custom brass feet, new cabinet and drawer hardware, and an offset matte stone sink paired with a brushed brass single handle faucet.
We kept the space feeling relaxed and not too formal by incorporating fun, current silhouettes for the rest of our selections. A repeating pill-shaped motif shows up in the statement-making light fixtures, tub filler, hanging planters, and tub-side mirrored table. Similarly, reeded/fluted patterns can be found on the pocket door glass, bathroom accessories, artwork, and louvered linen closet door.
On the walls, natural limewash in the moody shade “Anise” from Bauwerk Color has been treated with a hand-burnished wax coating, making the textured surface safe for use in wet spaces. The suede-like finish adds rich character to the space, changing with the varying sunlight throughout the day. We’ve used a two-tone hexagon mosaic floor tile in both classic Carrara and dramatic Nero Marquina to help delineate the wet and dry halves of the bathroom. The soaking tub is placed on a 4” angled platform, breaking up the floor plan and making the space more dynamic.
Radiant heat floors, a hidden medicine cabinet, extra wide tiled shower niche, and new privacy glass windows are a few more features balancing form and function.
