When the homeowner bought this Townhome, she knew that a new kitchen was a priority. The outdated kitchen was dark and not efficient. Create a more useful space and bring the light in was the main request for this design. Removing a built-in large pantry allowed for more countertop and to relocate the refrigerator. A smaller but more efficient pantry was installed by the kitchen entrance what helps with the organization of the grocery shopping.   Free ebook, Creating the Ideal Kitchen. DOWNLOAD NOW   Our clients and their three teenage kids had outgrown the footprint of their existing home and felt they needed some space to spread out. They came in with a couple of sets of drawings from different architects that were not quite what they were looking for, so we set out to really listen and try to provide a design that would meet their objectives given what the space could offer. We started by agreeing that a bump out was the best way to go and then decided on the size and the floor plan locations of the mudroom, powder room and butler pantry which were all part of the project. We also planned for an eat-in banquette that is neatly tucked into the corner and surrounded by windows providing a lovely spot for daily meals. The kitchen itself is L-shaped with the refrigerator and range along one wall, and the new sink along the exterior wall with a large window overlooking the backyard. A large island, with seating for five, houses a prep sink and microwave. A new opening space between the kitchen and dining room includes a butler pantry/bar in one section and a large kitchen pantry in the other. Through the door to the left of the main sink is access to the new mudroom and powder room and existing attached garage. White inset cabinets, quartzite countertops, subway tile and nickel accents provide a traditional feel. The gray island is a needed contrast to the dark wood flooring. This project won in the 2013 Builders Association of Metropolitan Pittsburgh Housing Excellence Award for Best Urban Renewal Renovation Project. Arts and crafts home design photo in Seattle

This Allendale family wanted a main level where everyone had a place truly their own. With two young kids and a dog on one side of the house and Mom and Dad on the other, the challenge was designing a layout that gave each part of the family their own space without the home feeling split in two. Ridgewood Home Construction solved this by constructing the entire main level into two connected zones: a bedroom-and-bathroom wing where the kids could run around, spread out, and make noise, and a quiet corner of the house for Mom and Dad to call their own. The kitchen, primary suite, living room, bathrooms, laundry, and entry were all part of the project, so every space feels like it belongs to the family that lives there.

This gorgeous Georgian home is complimented by its grand backyard complete with a custom concrete 15 x 25 ft Gib-San pool. Interior finish is a custom blue Pebble Fina with shimmering seas and a pearlized cream mosaic tile. Three laminars and three sheers are illuminated by multiple LED lights within the pool for ultimate enjoyment all day and evening. A specialized floating auto-cover helps to keep leaves out of the pool on this ravine setting when the pool is not in use. A true slice of paradise!
