Simplicity and understated luxury The property is a Grade II listed building in the Queen’s Gate Conservation area. It has been carefully refurbished to make the most out of its existing period features, with all structural elements and mechanical works untouched and preserved. The client asked for modest, understated modern luxury, and wanted to keep some of the family antique furniture. The flat has been transformed with the use of neutral, clean and simple elements that blend subtly with the architecture of the shell. Classic furniture and modern details complement and enhance one another. The focus in this project is on craftsmanship, handiwork and the use of traditional, natural, timeless materials. A mix of solid oak, stucco plaster, marble and bronze emphasize the building’s heritage. The raw stucco walls provide a simple, earthy warmth, referencing artisanal plasterwork. With its muted tones and rough-hewn simplicity, stucco is the perfect backdrop for the timeless furniture and interiors. Feature wall lights have been carefully placed to bring out the surface of the stucco, creating a dramatic feel throughout the living room and corridor. The bathroom and shower room employ subtle, minimal details, with elegant grey marble tiles and pale oak joinery creating warm, calming tones and a relaxed atmosphere.

We created a transitional design for their home that incorporates modern touches and classic lines to tie the spaces together. Our primary focus was to update the home and keep things feeling clean and fresh while making it comfortable for everyone in the family. We started by painting every room in their home, replacing all of their interior doors, and updating all of their light fixtures. One of the most transformative elements was the updated flooring throughout the home. We removed the oak floors and replaced them with a wide plank solid hickory which removed the yellow undertones and gave them a clean backdrop for the rest of the design. The clients really wanted to freshen up their kitchen and incorporate new appliances without starting from scratch, so we rearranged a few of their existing cabinets to make room for their new stove and range hood. We also lowered the original bar-height counter to make the kitchen feel more open to their family room. We then painted all of their cabinets a crisp white, replaced the crown molding, updated the hardware, replaced their counter top with a marble look quartz, and used a soft green mosaic tile on their backsplash. This home has a large family room, and the original fireplace was far too small and seemed to disappear under the 20 foot ceilings. So we removed the old square fireplace, replacing it with a linear gas fireplace and a floor-to-ceiling tiled surround with a custom wood mantle. This created a real focal point and helped to anchor the space. We then brought in a cozy blue sectional and a soft new rug to make this the perfect place for a family movie night. The clients have a real love of music, and wanted to create a space where they could lay back and enjoy their vinyls. So in their family room we created a custom stereo wall with floating cabinets and shelves to house all of their audio equipment and showcase a few of their favorites. We then furnished the room with clean and classically inspired pieces to tie in with the aesthetics in the rest of the home.

A couple took ownership of their new residence on a top floor of a quiet street in central Lisbon. Our studio’s brief was to transform the duplex into a hideaway to detach from daily life and spend quality time with visiting relatives. The design manifests family-focused features: upon entry, there is plentiful storage for shoes and coats; in the main living room, a custom island crafted in solid surface extends the compact kitchen into the social area, seamlessly bridging cooking and convivial gatherings. A buffet supports more elaborate meals. Sculptural pendants and niches that accentuate horizontal continuity favor interaction between the dining and flexible lounge areas. Reimagined with durable materials, the bathrooms embrace efficiency and elegance. Cabinetry is integrated around the planes of countertops and insets carried across the room. Dark wood and textured accents punctuate the white surfaces, grounding the spaces in tactile warmth. The bedrooms, designed for adaptability, offer separable sleeping arrangements, peaceful workspaces, and versatile wardrobe solutions. The light-toned furniture and organic elements are tailored to the interior, softening the contrasting architectural palette and rectilinear forms. The room was almost there. But it was lacking the defining pieces to anchor the space. Plus there was the challenge of where to store the tv equipment. These custom cabinets were built so they could be multi-purpose: storage, seating and decorative. To keep the fireplace the focus of the room the cabinets were kept low and flank the fireplace. The cabinets are a solid wood with a beautifully stained finish. To ensure lasting beauty and durability each was finished with a 1-1/2" custom wood top stained to match the cabinets.

We designed and delivered a perfectly hidden kitchen laundry and, can you believe, it adds tremendous style to this new open space Moorestown, New Jersey kitchen?! Besides figuring out what to do with the washer and dryer, the client asked for a large table island, fun green accenting, and wood details. To truly understand the challenge we had with this project, please look at the befores first — a small space condo kitchen that had a stacked washer & dryer fully exposed. Solutions: knock out a wall to open things up to the dining room, and somehow enclose the washer and dryer. Besides now having a tremendously functional open space kitchen with an electic mix of modern and transitional that is ‘perfectly Theresa’, the laundry space now adds style. It’s amazing how the caning on the doors became a statement element! How fun! We truly managed to hide a washer & dryer in plain sight and add beauty!

For this project we renovated unused attic space to create an entire 3rd floor guest bedroom with an ensuite bathroom. Careful planning was required to make sure this project was not just possible but complimentary to the rest of the home. A new stair case and landing was added matching the existing oak stairway and railings. A solid oak entry door with matching finish helped make the new stairwell look original to the home. The bedroom has a custom built queen sized bed with integrated end tables that house the HVAC ductwork. Bedside switch controls for the sconce lights, recessed lights and fan made for convenient lighting control. 2 Alcove beds with reading lights and charging stations to accommodate the kids. For the bath we installed a vanity, toilet, tiled floor and stall shower making a full bathroom ensuite. Efficiency is always a factor but for an attic where guests are meant to feel comfortable we focused on careful insulating. A large window brings in the natural light and the casement style captures the wind, cooling and venting the new room.

The luxurious, tranquility of the lounge with beautiful sea views fits perfectly with the overall feel of the home. We designed sumptuous, comfy custom-made couches to allow the family to truly relax and enjoy their living room space, and paired it with feather filled scatter cushions in textured neutral fabrics. A faux fur throw adds that extra bit of warmth and texture to the space which the clients absolutely loved. We focused on bringing in a lot of natural textures to the space which included a large, gorgeous natural fiber rug. All the furniture was custom designed and manufactured to fit the space perfectly. A stand-out feature of the room is the solid Oak Butler’s tray coffee table that Cheryl designed and paired perfectly with coastal decorative objét pieces and pops of warm gold in the form of candle holders. We kept the palette neutral and soft by choosing linen curtains throughout, with simple sheers behind the blockout lined curtains, which frame the large windows, and allow for either complete privacy or a spectacular ocean seafront view. An absolute dream lounge!

This amazing kitchen is the central focus of this home. The Glacier white cabinets from Wellborn give you a pristine background to make the space feel clean, calm, and elegant. The beautiful curved wood hood is from Wellborn as well. It looks stunning on the back wall between the windows. There are custom refrigerator panels on the Sub-Zero appliance. The island is a beautiful new stain from Wellborn called DRIFT. It is a gray/brown stain that looks fabulous with the Silestone Ariel quartz on the island. The wide planks on the back of the island give the same tongue and groove look as the beautiful painted ceiling. This kitchen is not lacking in storage or in counter surface. It is a fantastic, functioning, and aesthetically pleasing space! This particular area has a hutch look to it with large wall cabinets down to the countertop. Several appliances could be stored in these cabinets and there are outlets in the back of each. The decorative toe space adds to the furniture look.

Eliesha Hagemann Photography This couple was excited to extend their living space out to the unused patio. We were able to give them an expansive U shaped outdoor kitchen with built-in 36" grill, a serving island, an electric burner, a full beverage center including high powered blender, and refrigerator. The focus was to be sure the new outdoor living space looked as if it was part of the original plan. With stone veneer to complement the brick color along with solid surface live edge limestone countertops, they couldn't be happier with the results!
