This is a stunning modern kitchen. Sometimes, contemporary design can feel cold or sterile. This kitchen sets itself apart by adding color, warmth, and custom design elements that remain true to modern aesthetic but add in character and personality. The extra tall upper cabinets add height and drama to the space. The glass inserts at the top have lighted interiors which serve as storage and display areas. The Crown molding continues over the stainless hood, bridging the nearly 4 foot gap between the two sides. The grey accent color on the wall cabinets is echoed at the large kitchen island. The soft white perimeter color serves as a great anchor for the bold grey accent. The granite stays true to the color scheme with its white base and grey and black veining. The back splash is a grey vein cut limestone. The glass inset tiles offer color and shine to the subway limestone. At the hood area, the pattern switches to herringbone, but maintains the glass accent. By using the same tile and simply changing the format, we add visual interest to the space without creating competing elements. The built in Wolf convection oven and steam oven are a superior option for any cook. The wood plank floor is actually porcelain tile. Porcelain tile is easier to maintain than wood, and holds up better in heavy traffic or water environments, such as kitchen.

The rich cherry cabinets and creamy natural stone create a traditional statement, while maintaining a light and bright overall feel. The stacked cabinets have glass inserts at the top which allows the cabinets to extend to the ceiling without feeling top heavy. The marble backsplash is complimented by glass tile accents that add to the space without overwhelming it. The glass brings a bit of whimsy to the overall traditional space. The large windows and patio doors bring in a great presence of natural light and take advantage of the sweeping ocean views. The kitchen combines matte finish countertops and slab doors, with accent slimline metal accent cabinet door fronts. White high gloss glass back splash tiles offer a stark contrast with the more muted tones and textures and creates interesting light paly in the space. The dual tone counters each have waterfall edges on all sides continuing to clean and well-defined lines. The sitting area counter color brings in warmth, which pulls in the natural wood floors and also adds a new layer to the otherwise stark white and stainless-steel kitchen. The Miele appliance package is perfect partner for the modern kitchen. Hidden storage solutions throughout the kitchen keep the counters clean and clear of clutter. There is breakfast cabinet that hides blenders, juicers, and coffee makers. Pull outs racks contain all spices, oils and stove top utensils. Pull out pantry trays and extra deep drawers hold all the pot, pans and daily goods.

Moving to the master bedroom and bathroom, we created a completely new layout that enlarged the size of the vanities, added a makeup area, and added an extra large shower. The shower and tub are incorporated together in a ‘wet room’ concept, making the space feel open, connected, and cohesive. The walk in concept, with large bench and single pane of glass lead to easy cleaning and maintenance. This spa-like design concept has taken off in recent years, and we were thrilled to make this a reality for these homeowners. The mix of blues and greys is consistent with the rest of the home, while remaining a unique and personal.

With ample room for storage and relaxing, this boys bathroom is the perfect mixture of practical and luxurious.
