Inspiration for a mid-sized contemporary wooden l-shaped open staircase remodel in New York with beige walls

This Belmont deck assembly we designed and built presented a unique challenge due to the steep grade of the lot. Working from our engineer’s specifications, we placed three steel reinforced footings strategically into the sloped terrain, creating a solid foundation for the structure. From the street above, we craned in three steel I beams and hoisted them into position to support the new deck system. To complete the structure, we wrapped the steel beams in redwood so the finished assembly would blend naturally with the other wood elements of the project. The deck framing was built with pressure treated Douglas fir for strength and durability, while the rails and skirting were crafted from redwood to maintain a warm, cohesive aesthetic. The deck surface itself is Trex, providing long lasting performance with minimal maintenance, and the balusters are powder coated aluminum for a clean, modern look. New Andersen doors and windows installed throughout further enhanced the project, tying the interior and exterior spaces together and elevating both the functionality and architectural finish. The result is a beautiful, sturdy outdoor living environment where the owners can enjoy the Bay Area’s wonderful weather and their dramatically enhanced view of the San Francisco Bay.

This contemporary new build home included the installation of double height automated sliding sash windows. This sliding glass leaves smoothly open at the centre creating a real wow-factor. The guillotine windows can be designed for electrical opening with automated motors providing a smooth opening. minimal windows sliding aluminium doors have been used in the kitchen and bedroom area, they have a 21mm frame and a frameless base. This helps connect this internal space to the gardens.
