This beautiful 11,000 square foot playground area at the Child Development Center of Natrona County was installed by ForeverLawn Central Wyoming, featuring Playground Grass™ Ultra by ForeverLawn®. This project is made up of three separate playgrounds, each designed with a specific age group in mind. The playgrounds were previously surfaced with rubber tiles that were beginning to curl, and the facility was looking for the perfect solution with plenty of benefits. Some of the children in the care of this child development center have special needs, so the playgrounds are required by the county to have fall height protection. Playground Grass meets the ASTM 1292 fall specifications as well as the ASTM 1951 ADA accessibility specifications. In addition, some of the children have electronic medical devices, making Playground Grass Ultra the perfect fit for these playgrounds because of the XStatic™ antistatic technology.

A passion project for The Fernandes family, “The Haverly” is the culmination of a multi-year dream for the clients, who had envisioned a complimentary pool house to go with their authentic mid-century modern home since purchasing it years ago. They took their time, scouring construction sites for the unique Haver Block, a pre-cast signature brick, long since out of production, that was a staple of famed local architect, Ralph Haver. They also obtained and held onto period-appropriate decorative panels from the Biltmore during one of its many remodels. The structure itself takes outdoor/indoor living to another level, with 30 linear feet of the exterior being retractable floor-to-ceiling glass panels, meeting on a corner. This presented a fun design challenge for Zach Burns of MODE Architecture, who had to figure out how to cantilever the majority of the exterior roof with a minimum of visible support. The glass is offset by exposed CMU, with a specific linear grout pattern, and a metal roof fascia with complementary linear detail. The focal point of course is the custom-made walnut bar, complete with period-specific “boomerang” laminate tops and padded leather bar rail. Behind the bar is a commercial-grade bar set up, highlighted by an 80” TV with the capability to split into 4 smaller pictures (period specific to the 21st century!) The bathroom tile matches the pool coping tile, the cozy semi-private office is enhanced by a gorgeous piece of 1950s furniture, and the one-of-a-kind neon sign was a gift from Regency to close friends.

We created a very well thought out and custom designed closet for this designated large closet area. We created areas of full 24" depth and 14" depth for the perfect storage layout. Specific areas were given for shoe storage and folding as well. Many drawers, specific hanging for pants and hutch areas were designed for specific storage as well. We utilized tllt out laundry hampers, pullout pant racks, swivel out ironing boards along with pullout valet rods, belt racks and tie racks. The show stopper is our LED lit shoe shrine which showcases her nicer shoes.

Floor Installation 1.Mark out the baseline of gound level, 2.Mix the mortar with ratio of 1 cement to 4 sand to have semi-day mortar, 3.Lay the mixed mortar in level with a layer of 3-4cm thickness,place the tile over the mortar and adjust the height properly to be leveled, 4.Remove the tile after level adjustment.Put a thin layer of cement powder on the mortar and add water on it to become wet, 5.Put the tile on top and gently knock with rubber hammer until it sealed with the mortar properly. Make sure the tile is leveled and has the same space between each other. Those tiles which are not leveled with others should be removed and repeat the leveling procedure in step 4.Genetally,the space between two tiles should be 2mm for water evaporation and normal expansion. Daily maintenance of Micro Crystal Stone 1.The laying area of micro crystal stone can only be opened for use or stacking any item on top after at least 24 hours of filling the gap, 2.The ground must be covered with plywood or carpet for protection in case of doing other decoration work after the installation of micro crystal stone floor, 3.In areas like exit and entrance, the surface of micro crystal stone floor should be covered by carpet or plywood to protect it from the damage of abrasion of sand or other hard material. 4.Do not use general floor wax on micro crystal stone,General floor wax is an oil-based wax which is easily stuck to dust. 5.Please use rubber wheels for shopping cart and trolley on micro crystal stone floor, for the hard wheel may scratch and damage the surface, 6.Regular care and maintenance is the key for long lasting of micro crystal stone’s high glossy and reflection. Important Notice 1.Make sure the ground of laying area is dry and clean before laying mortar. The ratio 1:3(volume ratio) must be strictly followed and no extra water added during the installation progress 2.In the choice of using white cement as the filling material, the strength and quality of the cement must be checked properly. 3.It is not recommended to store micro crystal stone outdoor for long time. It should be covered with rock wool in winter and moved into indoor 2 hours in advance before installation.
