We partially removed the wall between the living room and the staircase creating a half a wall that opens up the overall feeling of the space. We also widened the staircase. The painted front door makes a bold statement and creates a nice contrast with the walls. Treads and banisters are stained with a mixture of the DuraSeal® Coffee brown and the Spice brown. Even with the use of cocoa stained cabinetry, the kitchen space is able to maintain a light feel with the use of white millwork, countertops and gray painted walls.

This main level, which originally had been tightly compartmentalized into four separate spaces, now features an open and beautiful space with great sight lines.

Board & Vellum bumped out the front entry of the house by a couple of feet to allow more room to welcome guests and take off shoes and coats.

Entry facelift and new transom window to let in more natural light
