The scarecrow, purchased six years ago at a farmer's market, is a stable on Rieves porch. She says, "Over the years he morphs and changes outfits. I have him dressed as a Virginia Tech Hokie fan this year complete with beads, Pom Pom and pennant. I also added the pumpkin sunglasses for fun."
The polkadot pumpkins were a DIY project created by Rieves using Fun-kins, a round sponge brush and acrylic paint.

The Yellow Cape Cod decorated for fall. Private residence and design studio styled for fall by Sarah Macklem of TheYellowCapeCod.com
The front porch was styled with pumpkins, lanterns, cornstalks and oversized mums. The wreath on the front door was made with dried flowers from the homeowners fall wedding 14 years ago.

This is the dining room, I wanted this room to make a statement. The paneling design on the wall was already white, so I decided to paint the walls needlepoint navy. I dressed the window with a white custom drapery and bronze drapery rod. I used a live edge table with white dining chairs. The rug was my inspirational piece for this room, it just brought everything together. The one piece that the customer had to have was cotton, so I accessorized the table with a vase with cotton and brought in a blue table runner and some white dishes.

the bamboo is a clumping variety called Bambusa eutuldoides viridi-vittata , Asian lemon bamboo. This variety is a clumper and you do not need to contain it, however, do allow an 8'by 10' area for its ultimate growth. Bamboo does require constant maintenance and you will need to do some research for the specific variety you choose. Once planted, it will become a beautiful focal point and add a stunning tropical accent. Photo Credit: Sherwood Cox
