This large, light blue colored basement is complete with an exercise area, game storage, and a ton of space for indoor activities. It also has under the stair storage perfect for a cozy reading nook. The painted concrete floor makes this space perfect for riding bikes, and playing some indoor basketball. It also comes with a full bath and wood paneled

When a large family renovated a home nestled in the foothills of the Santa Cruz mountains, all bathrooms received dazzling upgrades and this master bathroom was no exception. The spacious room faces a private yard with an abundance of greenery and views of the foothills, so I chose light, cool colors and organic materials to reference the beauty just outside. We chose an elegantly curved freestanding bath tub which echoes the beautiful, sinuous twists of the tub filler and sink faucets. I worked with my client to create a massive steam shower lined with porcelain tile that mimics marble, a much more durable and steam-friendly material than porous marble. A grand custom vanity spans one half of the bathroom and features a seated make-up area. For the vanity lighting, my client fell in love with pendants that look as if they are faceted jewels. Architecture & Design by: Harmoni Designs, LLC. The steam shower has a built-in shower bench clad in travertine marble. The bench top is granite that matches the countertops, soap niche sill, etc. The electric floor heat is carried up to warm the shower bench. The handheld shower sprayer is conveniently located by the shower bench for shaving and a splash of cold water during a nice long steam. Coming home to this master bathroom is like paying a visit to the spa.

Though my client wanted a marble shower, I recommended porcelain with a faux marble finish because it is more durable in a steam shower and is low maintenance. The steam setting contributes to a great shave, so I added a fog-free mirror on the wall for in-shower grooming. Photo by Jeff Mateer

This bathroom is found in the basement of the house. With low ceilings and no windows, the designer was able to add some life to this room through his design. The double vanity is perfect for him and hers. The shower includes a steam unit for a perfect spa retreat in your own home. The tile flowing over to the ceiling brings in the whole room. The mirrors are electric mirrors which include great lighting and a tv inside the mirror itself! Overall, it's the perfect escape from a long day at work or just to simply relax in.
