The retaining walls found along the property were made from PA Fieldstone Wallstone. The textures and various colors found throughout this stone easily enhance the outdoor area and offer visual stimulation. Ashler pattern brownstone was used throughout the patio, creating a clean and polished look. This patio surrounded a beautiful swimming pool that was aligned with brownstone caps along the border.The materials that were used in this landscape exterior created a relaxing and enjoyable space, perfect for the family.

The client was sharing some photos he'd taken in subways in NYC, Chicago and London, among others. These exciting images of his stimulated an idea: What if we used the subway as a motif for the entire basement project? This concept was enthusiastically endorsed. The client is mostly confined to a wheelchair and she asked us to design and produce a bathroom she could use in her chair for the sink, and have a bench she could slide across with the help of grab bars to help her access the overhead rain shower and handheld. Every aspect of this bathroom was designed with the client and made specific to her needs. We added a ceiling soffit with rope lights to create lighting along with fun surface mounted lights with added reflection. A floating shelf was installed under the mirror to hold items she needed. Rope lights were added under the shelving to reflect off the counter. The highly graphic tile picked out by the client stimulates the imagination. Within the shower room every area is water tight. A clever design with the niche was employed making the pony wall cap have double duty as a shelf within the niche.

In her work Nanette wants to go beyond a beautiful picture. It’s a search for powerful shapes, colors and positions that are not aesthetics but achieve the right tension. A collection of layered illustrations builds into a being in its own context. Before creating a digital drawing, each design is hand drawn. It is essential that a design breathes life. As an artist, Claude Monet used his eye to design his fabulous home in Giverny, France. Choosing hand made blue and white tiles from a tile manufacturer in Rouen, France - he succeeded in inspiring the design world for the past century. Blue and white glazed porcelain and ceramic tiles were brought to Europe from China via the French East India Company beginning in 1664. France was one of the first countries to unlock the Chinese secrets of fabricating their hard paste porcelain - and Rouen was an established center of this artistic endeavor. Of course Monet would only have the best when it came to his home - and purchasing tiles in Rouen was without question. Perhaps understood as well by Monet, is that blue is the color of the mind - it is soothing to the soul and stimulates clear thought. Historically accurate, hand painted by Emmi Micallef and kiln-fired onto a 5" x 5" hand made tile in one of two whites, The Cuisine de Monet Collection brings not only timeless elegance into the kitchen but a serenity from an overstimulated world.

Who wouldn't want to hang out in this vibrant kitchen morning, noon, night and snack time? This rivetingly colorful kitchen never fails to wow. Appetite stimulating red cabinets feature wood knobs and pulls. There's island seating as well as a breakfast nook with a view and ample bench seating with extra storage. The custom maple countertops are polished on the sink side of the kitchen but unpolished on the kitchen island.
