This garage door needed extensive preparation before it would be ready for paint. Any failing/peeling paint was pressure washed off, and then scraped and sanded before a coat of primer was applied over any bare wood areas. Next, two coats of Ecologic Exterior Semi Gloss Paint was applied to the entire garage door, frame and inset windows.

This is an organic Lime Wash done with a true lime wash product as opposed to a brick mortar or concrete that is often seen on new houses. This product can be applied as a solid coating making the surface completely white, or can be applied and "washed off" in many artistic ways, as seen here. This lovely home in upper Capilano area had recently become covered in mildew, a very common problem in North Vancouver. To correct for this, we pressure washed with a bleach solution to kill any algae spores. Next, an oil based primer was applied to seal in any remaining stains caused by the excessive mildew and algae. Dulux Diamond Exterior Semi Gloss in White was then applied to all trim to protect the wood and provide additional protection.

In order to correct for this, extensive caulking and filling was applied where needed. Next, two coats of Dulux Diamond Exterior Semi Gloss in White was applied to all trim, railings, and doors. The cedar shakes received one coat of Sikkens to darken and protect the wood from the sun. The front door was also repainted to pull the whole look together. Now this house looks brand new again!

Senior Cottage The Senior Cottage was a community project for the Frederick County Housing Trust along with Frederick County Building Industry Association. Students from Frederick County Public Schools Career and Technology Center constructed this cottage to create awareness for the need for skilled trades and showcase the cottage as an option for senior housing. We were honored to be a part of the team and lend my skill as a designer to this project.
