We designed unique valances plus motorized shades for this family room in Plainfield IL. The client is a young professional, she wanted a warm and inviting home to go to after a long day at work. We dressed her family room windows with motorized shades for their convenience to operate. The custom valances we provided are made with gray colored velvet to cover the cornices, topped with flat aprons in a lovely ocean blue. The aprons are connected with cords that go through grommets. The valance on the stair landing has a different detail, it was done on purpose to create a subject for conversation. Various size pillows were provided for comfort. The accent color was persimmon which was a dynamic choice

This fun and bright office space is just what the client ordered! Her game boards and rug were the inspiration for this fun and fabulous space. She spends a lot of time in here and wanted to be surrounded by her favorite books and memories. Notice how we took the colors of the books and grouped them together by color after she divided them by subject. This provides a visually pleasing feel and she agreed that it was more comfortable to look at.

Laminam’s Oxide collection is based on the study of metal subjected to atmospheric agents to “capture” a particular moment of the oxidation process on ceramic. Oxide Avorio, available in the 1000×3000 mm size, replicates the effect of oxidised metal with shades of white and light hazelnut, which go well with modern environments as furnishing design elements, while maintaining an elegant allure even for metal flooring and cladding applications.

View of the living room that opens into the dining area and the kitchen to the terraced yard. Within this main space are three notable design elements: the floating fireplace wall, the polished stainless steel ceiling over the dining table, and the steel/glass/wood staircase, which drops down thru all of the floors and acts as a vertical counterpoint. Overall, it’s restrained white minimalism balanced with wood, color, and the city beyond. Photography by Eric Laignel.

Originally built in 1929 and designed by famed architect Albert Farr who was responsible for the Wolf House that was built for Jack London in Glen Ellen, this building has always had tremendous historical significance. In keeping with tradition, the new design incorporates intricate plaster crown moulding details throughout with a splash of contemporary finishes lining the corridors. From venetian plaster finishes to German engineered wood flooring this house exhibits a delightful mix of traditional and contemporary styles. Many of the rooms contain reclaimed wood paneling, discretely faux-finished Trufig outlets and a completely integrated Savant Home Automation system. Equipped with radiant flooring and forced air-conditioning on the upper floors as well as a full fitness, sauna and spa recreation center at the basement level, this home truly contains all the amenities of modern-day living. The primary suite area is outfitted with floor to ceiling Calacatta stone with an uninterrupted view of the Golden Gate bridge from the bathtub. This building is a truly iconic and revitalized space.

A micro-addition and new layout turns 1980’s cramped kitchen into bright, light-filled collaborative kitchen space.
The cramped, isolated kitchen in this 1980’s era home did not fit our clients’ lifestyle nor take advantage of the beautiful views of the nearby pond and woods. They longed for a functional yet fabulous space to support collaborative cooking and family gatherings. A micro-addition facilitated a new layout that both opened to and enlivened their existing living and dining spaces. A bold tri-color palette along with pro-level appliances and impeccable finish detailing gives them everything they desired and more.

Pioneer mosaic real thin stone veneer from the Quarry Mill looks fantastic as wainscoting on the exterior of this building. Pioneer is a natural hand-picked fieldstone that is sawed into thin stone veneer. The stone has neutral and pleasing earth tones with a soft and natural texture. Pioneer showcases the fieldstone in its completely natural state with irregular shapes. Some fieldstones are split with a hydraulic press to form ashlar, ledgestone, or castle rock style stones, whereas, Pioneer is unaltered and forms a mosaic style. Pioneer is subject to greater variation due to being a fieldstone product. This variation adds character and beauty to the unique look of Pioneer. The individual pieces give flexibility to the mason over the final appearance as the stone can be laid in a more linear fashion if desired.
