The decision to go small is about her personal values, committing to a lifestyle, and living within her means. The move to design small is a subjective decision that weighs in on a number of factors that can’t possibly be summed up in one statement, but the obvious benefits jump to the front...easier to maintain, less cleaning, less expensive, less debt, less environmental impact, less temptation to accumulate. Her design requirements were simple, small footprint less than 1000 sq. ft., garage below the living area, and take advantage of the amazing view. It’s smaller than the average house, but designed in a way that it won’t feel like a shoebox. My client thought long and hard about downsizing her home and her lifestyle, and she couldn’t be happier

VILLA D'ORO
Stone Mosaic
Villa d’Oro is a stunning collection of stone mosaic and intarsia patterns inspired by the artistic heritage of the countless cultures that have called the Mediterranean home. In Villa d’Oro, decorative influences from Moorish Spain mingle with Venetian Gothic and Medieval Egyptian, echoing the mélange created by the eons of cultural overlap in the ancient Mediterranean world. Working from historical sources, we stripped each design down to its graphic essence and then rebuilt it in contemporary color ways and scale, keeping in mind how people use patterns today. Each pattern in Villa d’Oro is carefully cut and assembled from stones fittingly sourced in a variety of Mediterranean countries, creating new decorative art to enliven your modern surroundings.
Usage:
Residential: All interior surfaces, including bathroom walls / floors, shower walls / floors and kitchen backsplashes. Exterior walls. Commercial: Interior and exterior walls and medium traffic floors. Some colors subject to scratching in high traffic environments. See Tools | Usage Guide for more details.

The Bride’s “dress” is created from paper presenting this traditional lamp material in an unusual solution. As light shines through the paper, you will find yourself infused by an aura of airy lightness ; almost as if the lamp were not subject to the law of gravity. This most definitely a lamp with a gender - the atmosphere created by the Bride is truly feminine.
Entirely handmade, each Bride has her own personality characterized by the unique pattern in which her shade is woven with the personal touch of the weaver who created the pattern. No two Brides on earth are the same!
The collection is comprised of ceiling lamps in two sizes and a kindred floor lamp and table lamp.

Designed by Interior Designer, A. Lantz Design, this Lake Charlevoix project was featured on the cover of Traditional Home magazine!
Another great seating area in the lower level family room of this gorgeous Michigan lake house. This intimate fireside area is perfect for playing games and is just steps away from the bar. The original stone fireplace runs from the lower level straight up through the main level and great room. Above the wooden mantel hangs a beautiful sail boat painting by Barry Lantz. Art is always a focal point in our interiors. Barry’s art added a fantastic layer of modernity throughout the residence. This space required an unusual canvas size, so Barry overstated the dimensions. We purposely hung the painting up and into the crown molding to make the painting important. The colors, of course, were chosen to go with the scheme of the design and the subject perfectly tied into lake-life activities!

The luxury details found in this kitchen remodel include Precision custom cabinetry finished in 'Swiss Coffee’, a perimeter countertop made out of a porcelain slab by Dekton from the Stonika Collection—color ‘Sogne’; and a contrasting island countertop made of polished Nevaska Granite, with a thicker 2-½” full bullnose edge. The full height backsplash is a honed Carrara Marble tile, 4”x12”, installed in a brick pattern.
Note: Porcelain is a durable man-made stone that resembles natural marble or granite. It's an excellent option for kitchens, as it has heat resistant properties like natural stone. Other man-made materials like Quartz have resin components that limit the heat you can subject them to.
Other features included new high-end appliances, a wine refrigerator and engineered wood flooring throughout.

Margaret's Walk. Little history behind the name...
Highly disciplined, Margaret Seton Fleming had a working knowledge of trade, business and politics, as well as domestic subjects. In 1837, she moved to Hibernia Plantation with her new husband, Lewis Fleming, whose father George had received Fleming Island as a 1790 land grant from the king of Spain. In the years to come, she would twice witness the destruction of the plantation and twice bring it back from ashes.
Her dream from the time she arrived at Hibernia as a 24-year-old bride was to have a "proper chapel" on the grounds. Construction on the church in the Carpenter Gothic style was begun in 1875 and completed in 1878. Sadly, Margaret died only months before its completion and its first service was her funeral.
