When the client spoke with the Delaney Window Fashions LLC workroom designer about the creation of a unique, Hawaiian-themed child’s bedroom, the bright pink and orange paint was already in place, along with the hibiscus floral fabric border. The impetus for the additional work was the transition from a baby’s room with a crib to a little girl’s room with a full-size bed. Although the room was started, it was far from complete. With a limited amount of the client’s floral fabric, which had subsequently been discontinued, the designer created bedding and pillows and constructed a Hawaiian-themed bed canopy with lights. The homeowner wanted the bedding to be washable but not quilted and the bed crown to be light weight. A tailored, center-pleat bed skirt was created first. The remaining fabric, along with an accent fabric was used to create a comforter, envelope and bolster pillows. The comforter was created with two mitered corners; and micro-cording was purposely added around the middle section to hide the seam.The middle section was hand tacked to secure comforter layers for laundering. To finish the bedding, a tiki hut-inspired bed crown was created, which was challenging because the material had to be light weight. Including LED garland added a fun and whimsical element. With child safety in mind, shirred tulle panels were attached to the back and sides of the crown. In this way, the lights were visible, but not accessible to the child. The project was a success, and the client loves the room. The child’s lighted tiki hut bed crown provided a cozy environment for nightly bedtime stories. It made for one happy little girl! Project Overview: The Backyard Renovation 3D Rendering project was developed to visually communicate the design intent and vision for a residential outdoor space. The project aimed to provide clear and engaging representations for both the contractor and the homeowner's association, facilitating a shared understanding of the proposed enhancements. Key Features: 1. New Driveway with Automatic Gates: The design features a contemporary driveway equipped with automated gates, providing convenience and improved security for the property. 2. Exercise Gym with Yoga Area: A dedicated space for fitness activities that includes both a traditional exercise gym and a serene yoga area, encouraging an active and healthy lifestyle. 3. Coffee Station with Juice Bar: This inviting area is designed for relaxation and socialization, featuring a coffee station complemented by a juice bar to enhance outdoor entertaining. 4. Secluded Meditation Space: A tranquil retreat is included, featuring a soothing wall fountain, cold plunge, and sauna, all surrounded by lush tropical vegetation to create an oasis for relaxation and mindfulness. 5. Lush Tropical Vegetation: The landscaping incorporates a variety of tropical plants that enhance privacy, beautify the space, and contribute to the overall calming atmosphere of the outdoor environment. Project Goals: The main goals of the project were to: • Visualize the backyard renovation to gain approval from the homeowner’s association. • Facilitate collaboration with the contractor by providing detailed renderings. • Create an aesthetically appealing and functional outdoor living space that meets the lifestyle needs of the homeowners. The 3D renderings successfully encapsulated the vision for the backyard renovation, presenting a harmonious blend of design and functionality. The visualizations served as a critical tool in moving forward with the project, ensuring clarity in communication and direction for all stakeholders involved.

Karen and Chad of Tower Lakes, IL were tired of their unfinished basement functioning as nothing more than a storage area and depressing gym. They wanted to increase the livable square footage of their home with a cohesive finished basement design, while incorporating space for the kids and adults to hang out. “We wanted to make sure that upon renovating the basement, that we can have a place where we can spend time and watch movies, but also entertain and showcase the wine collection that we have,” Karen said. After a long search comparing many different remodeling companies, Karen and Chad found Advance Design Studio. They were drawn towards the unique “Common Sense Remodeling” process that simplifies the renovation experience into predictable steps focused on customer satisfaction. “There are so many other design/build companies, who may not have transparency, or a focused process in mind and I think that is what separated Advance Design Studio from the rest,” Karen said. Karen loved how designer Claudia Pop was able to take very high-level concepts, “non-negotiable items” and implement them in the initial 3D drawings. Claudia and Project Manager DJ Yurik kept the couple in constant communication through the project. “Claudia was very receptive to the ideas we had, but she was also very good at infusing her own points and thoughts, she was very responsive, and we had an open line of communication,” Karen said. A very important part of the basement renovation for the couple was the home gym and sauna. The “high-end hotel” look and feel of the openly blended work out area is both highly functional and beautiful to look at. The home sauna gives them a place to relax after a long day of work or a tough workout. “The gym was a very important feature for us,” Karen said. “And I think (Advance Design) did a very great job in not only making the gym a functional area, but also an aesthetic point in our basement”. An extremely unique wow-factor in this basement is the walk in glass wine cellar that elegantly displays Karen and Chad’s extensive wine collection. Immediate access to the stunning wet bar accompanies the wine cellar to make this basement a popular spot for friends and family. The custom-built wine bar brings together two natural elements; Calacatta Vicenza Quartz and thick distressed Black Walnut. Sophisticated yet warm Graphite Dura Supreme cabinetry provides contrast to the soft beige walls and the Calacatta Gold backsplash. An undermount sink across from the bar in a matching Calacatta Vicenza Quartz countertop adds functionality and convenience to the bar, while identical distressed walnut floating shelves add an interesting design element and increased storage. Rich true brown Rustic Oak hardwood floors soften and warm the space drawing all the areas together. Across from the bar is a comfortable living area perfect for the family to sit down at a watch a movie. A full bath completes this finished basement with a spacious walk-in shower, Cocoa Brown Dura Supreme vanity with Calacatta Vicenza Quartz countertop, a crisp white sink and a stainless-steel Voss faucet. When old turf wasn’t delivering the best conditions for this soccer field, the ForeverLawn Emerald Coast team was called in to provide a superior, lasting solution. A customized version of SportsGrass® Edge XP was installed—75,420 square feet to be exact—to create a full-sized soccer field and three smaller ones. These fields are used in the community by adults and children alike for various soccer leagues. ForeverLawn customized the turf by shortening the pile height to 1.5 inches, increasing the stitch count to retain the original face weight, and adding XStatic® anti-static technology. XStatic® is a vital component in this project because there have been problems with static across the city. Installation was key for the success of this field, so we installed a Schmitz ProPlay 20 shock pad under the turf and used USGreentech’s Envirofill 12/20 rather than rubber infill. In just two weeks, this community got four beautiful new soccer fields that are safe, durable, and provide an attractive feature to local soccer leagues.

In a successful small kitchen, every element must pull its weight. We installed new cabinets from floor to ceiling, fitting a combination of shelves, deep drawers and custom pullouts, making every cabinet usable. Stealing the show is tile above the cooktop, it provides a visual drawing card with its textural beauty and a creative layout. Diagonal sightlines, open back chairs, furniture that does not extend to the floor, open weave fabrics at the windows all contribute to a sense of spaciousness.
