These homeowners wanted a house to age in place. They were out of space in their one story ranch and we were able to add a master suite to expand their home. We added to their existing hallway and opened up a wall for a new laundry room, bedroom, bath and closet. The space is bright with new windows and has access to the outdoors from the master bath. A large new closet off the bathroom keeps their clothes in easy reach. The couple wanted to be able to age in place, so the shower curb was fitted to allow for roll in access. The decorative ADA grab bars that were placed throughout provide beauty and function. A seat was added to the shower, along with a hand shower and niche boxes for storage. Light and neutral tile and colors were used throughout. Our clients loves their new suite and know they will be able to stay in their home for years to come. With one of the best balcony views in the house, Hearth and Home’s office is sure to inspire. A bold, deep bronze light fixture sets the tone, and rich casework provides a sophisticated backdrop for working from home.

I used to hate this room and it's pineapple wallpaper. Hard to believe, but the paint colors under the wallpaper were even worse. Now it's one of my favorite rooms in my home!
I couldn't decide between doing a mountain nursery theme and a night sky theme. So, I made it both, with a bit of a southwestern feel.

My client hated their large 80's style jacuzzi, and wanted us to remove it. We added a much larger shower, with seating, and a new coat of paint on their vanities, with a new quartz countertop. I had fun, with running their porcelain floor in a herringbone pattern, to add more elegance to this space. My client also wanted to keep cost down, so we went with cabinetry from pottery barn, instead of a custom build. These changes took this space from 80's builder grade look, to a new sleek design, that is sure to last years to come.

This dynamic kitchen design is one-of-a-kind with a blue laminate Wilsonart countertop and Clayhaus Ceramics 3-dimensional backsplash as the centerpiece. This is beautifully offset by contemporary, dark wood, slab panel Koch kitchen cabinets, a brick wall that brings a mid-century vibe to the design. The layout includes seating at the island and the kitchen table, as well as a laundry alcove separated by a brick dividing wall from the main kitchen.

For installations with new slate, we prefer to install only the highest quality time-tested slates. The combination of high quality slate, expert flashing design and installation, correct soldering, necessary underlayments for the conditions, and proper slate laying and fastening produces an aesthetic, long lasting roof that should have a serviceable life of 100+ years easily. Cutting corners on any one of these factors can shorten the life span of a slate roof from 100+ years to literally just a few years or less.
