This cramped 1970s master bathroom was in need of an organized overhaul with modern selections. A custom barn door with mirror on both sides and unique overlay on one side creates a beautiful invitation to this retreat. The particularly designed bathroom floor provides an eye catching iridescent tile strip that is repeated in the shower as the vertical band. Opposite of the new shower fixtures is a tall bump-in with shower shelves where the lowest shelf doubles as a toe ledge for shaving. The new sink vanity cabinets offer optimal organizational areas including a drawer that incorporates a USB plug-in for a charging station and an outlet for all the hair styling tools. Outside this bathroom area is a special dressing area with custom cabinets to incorporate storage and organization for laundry hampers, clothes, jewelry and purses. Chicagoland Home Products arrived in Gurnee, Illinois with storage solutions that helped a garage to become all that it could be. In fact, if garages could talk and fill out surveys, 100% of those surveyed would want to be like this one. Every garage wants to be more than a place to park a car or a home to the haphazardly stored. The Gurnee goal was to deliver a custom garage storage package that, among other things, helped kids easily access their play brooms and shovels. Part of that solution, also, gave the children a way to put away their rakes and little lawnmowers. What parent wouldn’t be pleased to see a child’s playthings neatly placed on hooks and shelves, specifically designed, to be within reach of the child? It’s just possible this would make it easier to pull the car into the garage without stopping to clear a path. Since it works for kids to have a storage solution of their own, why not give equal opportunity for the adults to put away their toys and tools? With custom garage storage like this, your golf clubs, shoes and accessories, will have a home. They will want to leap out of your vehicle and onto their convenient shelves. Just about anything can be hung on the slat wall – it is perfect for holding lawn equipment, tools and even more toys. With so many things needing to be recharged these days, note the convenient work surface and charging area. One other thing, those garages that were surveyed, wanted to look good too. While your garage can choose what fits its own style, this garage wanted its storage to be wrapped in a Merapi finish with square brushed chrome handles. Now, it looks good, has lots of room, is accessible for kids and adults, is organized, and ready to handle the challenges that you give it.

The contrasting cherry and black Jay Rambo kitchen cabinets give a sophisticated backdrop to an array of hidden surprises throughout this traditional kitchen design in Newtown, PA. The island has an oven tucked away at one end, while drawer fronts on the island provide easy access to hidden power outlets. The cabinets include handy pull-out spice racks, and elegant valances cover the cabinet base. A matching mantle hood frames the tumbled marble backsplash, which includes a recessed niche over the cooking area.

The countertops are a custom Natural Black Walnut wood top with a Mockett charging station and a Porter single basin farmhouse sink and Moen Arbor high arc faucet. The backsplash is Ice White Wow Subway Tile. The floor is Durango Tumbled tile.

Signature Design Interiors enjoyed transforming this family’s traditional basement into a modern family space for watching sports and movies that could also double as the perfect setting for entertaining friends and guests. Multiple comfortable seating areas were needed and a complete update to all the finishes, from top to bottom, was required. A classy color palette of platinum, champagne, and smoky gray ties all of the spaces together, while geometric shapes and patterns add pops of interest. Every surface was touched, from the flooring to the walls and ceilings and all new furnishings were added. One of the most traditional architectural features in the existing space was the red brick fireplace, accent wall and arches. We painted those white and gave it a distressed finish. Berber carpeting was replaced with an engineered wood flooring with a weathered texture, which is easy to maintain and clean. In the television viewing area, a microfiber sectional is accented with a series of hexagonal tables that have been grouped together to form a multi-surface coffee table with depth, creating an unexpected focal point to the room. A rich leather accent chair and luxe area rug with a modern floral pattern ties in the overall color scheme. New geometric patterned window treatments provide the perfect frame for the wall mounted flat screen television. Oval table lamps in a brushed silver finish add not only light, but also tons of style. Just behind the sofa, there is a custom designed console table with built-in electrical and USB outlets that is paired with leather stools for additional seating when needed. Floor outlets were installed under the sectional in order to get power to the console table. How’s that for charging convenience? Behind the TV area and beside the bar is a small sitting area. It had an existing metal pendant light, which served as a source of design inspiration to build upon. Here, we added a table for games with leather chairs that compliment those at the console table. The family’s sports memorabilia is featured on the walls and the floor is punctuated with a fantastic area rug that brings in our color theme and a dramatic geometric pattern. We are so pleased with the results and wish our clients many years of cheering on their favorite sports teams, watching movies, and hosting great parties in their new modern basement!

The first floor of this single-family home in Arlington, VA was divided to narrow staircase in front of the front door separating Living room and dining room. Just behind the dining room, was a very small kitchen, a nonfunctioning kitchen space, with a 2' wide window and just behind it an addition of storage room that literally served no purpose for them. They were looking for an updated look with lots of daylight and open first floor plan, plans were drawn up for both wall on sides of steps to be taken down giving openness to both living room and dining room. Three bearing walls separating kitchen and dining room, kitchen and added storage, and kitchen and living room were taken down and new structural support inserted instead. A major amount of plumbing and duct work were relocated allowing open space. The old storage area was converted mudroom, closet space with tile floor, ceiling was raised, side add was added and back windows were installed. Portion old storage space was given to create much added powder room. Cutely decorated with flowered design floor tiles and restored furniture style vanity cabinet. Installed a Double window to allow much needed lighting in the kitchen area. Large Island with prep sink was implemented in center of kitchen and old dining room, a butler area with wine chiller and glass cabinets was install just steps away from new Dining & Living room space. the old wood burning fireplace was converted to gas log with new marble heart. New barn door was installed to allow clear path to adjacent study. Upscale stainless-steel appliances, exotic stone top and subway tiles are added more pizzazz to this comfortable yet welcoming kitchen. she is more than pleased with her decisions and can't wait to throw more parties in her home.
