“A Seattle homeowner hired Wittman Estes to design an affordable, eco-friendly unit to live in her backyard as a way to generate rental income. The modern structure is outfitted with a solar roof that provides all of the energy needed to power the unit and the main house. To make it happen, the firm partnered with NODE, known for their design-focused, carbon negative, non-toxic homes, resulting in Seattle’s first DADU (Detached Accessory Dwelling Unit) with the International Living Future Institute’s (IFLI) zero energy certification.”

An eco-friendly and sustainable home office remodel that focused on natural materials and wellness. The custom desk is a sit to stand to allow for flexibility for small to large tasks. The walls are covered in a natural upholstered midnight blue cork wallpaper, the lighting is LED and made from sustainable woods, the desk top also made from eco-friendly and low VOC porcelain product, and the custom Roman shades made from natural materials that add a fun pop to the space. The vinyl graphic wallpaper was also made of sustainable and low VOC vinyl wallpaper. Ample storage was added that was designed to fit all of the materials and parts the client needed for his electronic work.
