The story of this home is very unassuming, but that was the objective, to create the most intuitive, discreet, thoughtful smart home possible for our client. The clients are very tech-savvy individuals, but not over the top. They knew what they wanted, and what they wanted was clean and reliable technology in their home. Simple as that. A complete smart home system built just for them, providing a seamless experience. Automated lighting and shades timed and tuned to their preferences, security and surveillance giving them 24/7 peace of mind, climate control always at the ideal temperature, and an audio/video system that is not only brilliant in sound, but modern, easy to control, and beautiful. Two words come to mind for these clients after the project was complete… “Welcome Home.”

For this young family, their existing space wasn’t working for their lifestyle. Besides the aesthetics, they felt the kitchen wasn’t living up to its full potential. A list of their wants/needs included an open, sleek design that allowed their three children to eat at the island and have a place at a nearby desk to complete homework or watch television while dinner was being prepared. With the family’s main traffic area leading directly from the garage into the kitchen, it was critical to consider a place for the kids to place their schoolwork, sports equipment, art supplies and even bring in groceries. With all of that in mind, we added lockers for each child right at the garage entry, with the idea that the cabinets could be transitioned into additional pantry storage as the family matures. With the new open space, we were able to update the room using dark and light grays, on the cabinetry and walls. Combining the elegance of traditional design with the fresh and refined look of contemporary style trends, we mixed natural wood and stone and dark oak flooring with the contemporary look of paneled cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, sleek hardware, and a glass and marble tile backsplash. By mixing these materials the home’s traditional heritage is kept intact, but the young tech savvy family now has a fantastic space where they can gather for family meals and entertainment. From Childhood Home to Forever Home: A complete Renovation in Southern MA

This custom shower was designed to indulge the tech-savvy homeowner using Kohler's DTV+ system. This system includes water, sound, light, & steam to create a truly personalized experience. We used the Ambient Rainhead with chromatherapy & four WaterTile showerheads. Also used are a Kohler Putist showerhead, a Flipside handshower, a steam head, and WaterTile speakers. A Schluter linear drain was used & Schluter materials were used behind all of the tile and for the edging. Custom shower glass was installed with a transom for the steam. (Credit: Greenville Glass). Cloud limestone by Artistic Tile was used in 12x24 and 3x36. The vertical mosaic strip is from the Di'Amante line by Cancos Tile. And finally, the shower bench and threshold were created with Viatera in Minuet. We were able to use large format tile on the shower floow by using a Schluter linear drain. Clients Jason and Adam, after a successful living room and home bar redesign, wanted to give their kitchen a light and bright modern makeover. The stunning white quartzite counter tops with waterfall edge, and an eye-catching gray glass tile backsplash work perfectly together. We selected a combination of stark white and bluish-gray custom cabinets to compliment the existing bold design elements in their living room and bar area. Tech savvy elements, such as the chrome push/pop electrical outlets in the island, and hands-free trash drawer, allow for unrestricted culinary creativity. The now seamless transition from living room to kitchen creates a nice open airy feeling in this large multi-functional space.
