What used to be a cramped and dark space with mustard linoleum floors and 360 degrees of wood paneling, has become a sleek and modern reflection of a home owner’s courage and passion for living the dream. Flat panel cabinet doors and a kidney shaped island table give an appreciative nod towards mid-century aesthetics. Intentional design choices and current technology such as the recessed range hood and The Galley workstation assures the new space will function to the highest degree. Storage is plentiful between all of the large drawers and deep cabinets, the metal tambour cabinet houses all of the smaller appliances. The multi-tiered island showcases a variety of colors and textures working in perfect harmony. The higher side faces the doorway to the kitchen and acts as a bit of visual separation between it and the Entry. Dekton counters are the perfect maintenance free surface. We removed a formal dining room, a wall, and cabinets to create this massive kitchen. The family wanted a large open kitchen for more daily functional space. Here’s a look at the material selections for this project: ▪ CABINETS – White shaker cabinets with raised panel (Sherwin Williams Dover White, SW 6385). Lit-glass upper cabinets for display and ambiance. Medium cool blue gray island, Soft-close cabinet doors/drawers. Large pull-out pantry cabinet ▪ COUNTERTOPS – Gray, white, and blue granite countertops (Arizona Tile). Demi bullnose countertop edge ▪ BACKSPLASH - Beveled gray subway tile (Pumice by Arizona Tile) ▪ APPLIANCES - Thermador (double dishwashers, double ovens, double refrigerator drawers, 6 burner + griddle 48 inch rangetop) ▪ HARDWARE – Hudson brushed nickel hardware (Hardware Resources) ▪ FLOORS – Red oak scraped coffee brown hardwoods (locally crafted) ▪ WALLS – Custom silver and grey diamond pattern mural ▪ LIGHTING – Large, clear seeded glass pendants ▪ PLUMBING – Delta plumbing fixtures

The cream-colored elements in this kitchen with blend beautifully with light khaki walls. We designed a dedicated beverage storage/entertainment space for evening gatherings. Fantasy Brown marble and 12x24 inch Reside brown porcelain floor tile (Arizona Tile) add soft warmth. Elegant orbital clear glass pendants mimic the shape of the small arabesque tile backsplash in shades of beige (Daltile). The cream-colored shaker cabinets feature a recessed panel with bevel and have lit-glass upper cabinets for display and ambience. Sleek, brushed nickel hardware (Hardware Resources) accents the locally crafted with soft-close doors and drawers. Glass mosaic tile backsplash adds visual interest to the island behind the Truffle Silgranit sink (Blanco) with Delta brushed nickel plumbing fixtures. The island seats 5 with cream leather/espresso wood swivel counter stools from Pier One.
