This project goes down as a true TVL favorite! Complex and detailed, this project encompassed changes in just about every room in the house. During our multi-week renovation process, we had hands in the main level kitchen, dining, living, powder room, laundry room, and staircase. Upstairs, we renovated the guest bathroom, master bathroom, and additional bedrooms. The scope of work consisted of massive plumbing moves and huge aesthetic upgrades, as well as new hardwood flooring, renovated staircase, new lighting, and entirely new paint scheme. Overall, we transformed a builder-grade house from its early 1990's palette to a sleek and contemporary design worthy of the home's sophisticated owners. It's tough to pick a favorite feature in this project, but if pressed we'd say the fabulous spa-like powder room, which features wood-look wall tile, dark paint accents, concrete-look floor tile, wall mounted faucet and sink, and gorgeous designer pendants. Also notable is the fascinatingly beautiful Muscannell walnut hardwood flooring, Hubbarton Forge lighting fixtures, sleek european plumbing fixtures, and gorgeous Sherwin Williams paint tones throughout the home.
Find the right local pro for your project

Located in one of the Ritz residential towers in Boston, the project was a complete renovation. The design and scope of work included the entire residence from marble flooring throughout, to movement of walls, new kitchen, bathrooms, all furnishings, lighting, closets, artwork and accessories. Smart home sound and wifi integration throughout including concealed electronic window treatments.
The challenge for the final project design was multifaceted. First and foremost to maintain a light, sheer appearance in the main open areas, while having a considerable amount of seating for living, dining and entertaining purposes. All the while giving an inviting peaceful feel,
and never interfering with the view which was of course the piece de resistance throughout.
Bringing a unique, individual feeling to each of the private rooms to surprise and stimulate the eye while navigating through the residence was also a priority and great pleasure to work on, while incorporating small details within each room to bind the flow from area to area which would not be necessarily obvious to the eye, but palpable in our minds in a very suttle manner. The combination of luxurious textures throughout brought a third dimension into the environments, and one of the many aspects that made the project so exceptionally unique, and a true pleasure to have created. The Challenge
Our client drove by the Varenza Design Build studio, researched us online, and called to learn more about our services. They had built their customs home 35 years earlier and had never undertaken a major renovation. The home's extensive crown molding and custom woodwork throughout gave it real character, and our client wanted to honor that heritage rather than erase it. Their primary bathroom needed a full update, but the brief was clear: keep the custom, traditional character of the home while bringing the space into the modern day.
The Transformation
Working closely with our client, we reimagined the primary bathroom from the ground up, blending custom traditional details with modern comfort. The scope included:
• A brand-new tiled shower, replacing the dated original
• Removal of the old jacuzzi tub, replaced with a new soaking tub set within a custom wood enclosure with wainscoting detail
• A custom-built dual sink vanity topped with natural stone countertops
• New flooring extended into the adjoining closet areas, replacing worn carpet with a herringbone tile pattern
• Custom trim and millwork carried through to match the home's original character
The Result
The finished space is a one-of-a-kind, luxury retreat with a distinctly traditional feel — an oasis within the home. The custom trim work, dual vanity, and hand-selected finishes elevated this primary bathroom into a true showpiece, honoring the home's original craftsmanship while giving our client the modern, spa-like experience they wanted every day.

This kitchen balances warmth and refinement through a thoughtful blend of natural wood cabinetry and clean, modern finishes. Designed and crafted by Canter & Co., the cabinetry serves as the foundation of the space—bringing depth, texture, and a sense of quiet luxury to an otherwise light and airy palette.
Rich wood lowers and full-height pantry panels anchor the room, while soft white upper cabinets keep the space feeling open and bright. The contrast is intentional—creating a layered look that feels both timeless and current. Subtle brass hardware adds a refined touch, tying together the cabinetry with the lighting and fixtures for a cohesive finish.
Function was just as important as form in this design. Every cabinet was built with usability in mind—from seamless storage solutions to integrated appliances that maintain clean sightlines throughout the kitchen. The custom hood surround and continuous stone backsplash elevate the cooking area into a true focal point, while the oversized island offers both prep space and a natural gathering point.
From initial design through final installation, Canter & Co. approached this project with a full-scope vision—ensuring the cabinetry not only complements the home’s architecture but enhances how the space is lived in every day. The result is a kitchen that feels elevated yet inviting, where craftsmanship and design work in perfect harmony

Service: Value-Based, Full-Service Remodel & Furnishings
This home was screaming, ‘I have SO much potential!’ The scope included a kitchen refresh, living room refresh and furnishing, and a full renovation for the primary bathroom. A lot can be done even on a tight budget and this project is a perfect example of that. In the kitchen, dual-tone painted cabinets, new hardware, new counters and backsplash, additional corner base cabinet, a custom hood and open shelving really set the tone when entering the home. In the living room, perhaps the biggest change was the layout. The seating area was rotated 180 degrees to face the fireplace which received a colorful facelift to match the kitchen shelving. The primary bathroom was gutted. The open half wall was replaced with a full wall and pocket door to create a true master suite. Light and bright selections make this small space feel larger. The transformation can only be truly appreciated when you see the before pictures so scroll down to view.
“… I hired Jessica to help with a complete remodel of my house. She was very professional and worked daily with my contractor to ensure the design was executed correctly and handle the unexpected bumps in the road. If it hadn't been for her, I would have been under major stress. She was always on top of things and making sure it was done correctly. My project turned out amazing! It doesn't even resemble what it use to be.” - Sandy C.

Sedona is home to people from around the world because of it's beautiful red rock mountain scenery, high desert climate, good weather and diverse community. Most residents have made a conscience choice to be here. Good buildable land is scarce so may people purchase older homes and update them in style and performance before moving in. The industry often calls these project "whole house remodels".
This home was originally built in the 70's and is located in a prestigious neighborhood beautiful views that overlook mountains and City of Sedona. It was in need of a total makeover, inside and out. The exterior of the home was transformed by removing the outdated wood and brick cladding and replacing it stucco and stone. The roof was repaired to extend it life. Windows were replaced with an energy efficient wood clad system.
Every room of the home was preplanned and remodeled to make it flow better for a modern lifestyle. A guest suite was added to the back of the existing garage to make a total of three guest suites and a master bedroom suite. The existing enclosed kitchen was opened up to create a true "great room" with access to the deck and the views. The windows and doors to the view were raised up to capture more light and scenery. An outdated brick fireplace was covered with mahogany panels and porcelain tiles to update the style. All floors were replaced with durable ceramic flooring. Outdated plumbing, appliances, lighting fixtures, cabinets and hand rails were replaced. The home was completely refurnished and decorated by the home owner in a style the fits the architectural intent.
The scope for a "whole house remodel" is much like the design of a custom home. It takes a full team of professionals to do it properly. The home owners have a second home out of state and split their time away. They were able to assemble a team that included Sustainable Sedona Residential Design, Biermann Construction as the General Contractor, a landscape designer, and structural engineer to take charge in their absence. The collaboration worked well!
