Celebrating height with a robust amount of interior architectural details, this dynamic kitchen still gives one that cozy feeling of home sweet home. The large “L” shaped island accommodates 7 for seating. Large pendants over the kitchen table and sink provide additional task lighting and whimsy. The Dekton “puzzle” countertop connection was designed to aid the transition between the two color countertops and is one of the homeowner’s favorite details. The built-in bistro table provides additional seating and flows easily into the Living Room. A curved wall in the Living Room showcases a contemporary linear fireplace and tv which is tucked away in a niche. Placing the fireplace and furniture arrangement at an angle allowed for more natural walkway areas that communicated with the exterior doors and the kitchen working areas. The dining room’s open plan is perfect for small groups and expands easily for larger events. Raising the ceiling created visual interest and bringing the pop of teal from the Kitchen cabinets ties the space together. A built-in buffet provides ample storage and display. The Sitting Room (also called the Piano room for its previous life as such) is adjacent to the Kitchen and allows for easy conversation between chef and guests. It captures the homeowner’s chic sense of style and joie de vivre.

This project included three bathroom vanity upgrades. We wanted to create a serene, clean, and spa-like design. The bathrooms are cohesive while still being different. In the master we used these fabulous calacatta chevron tiles and in the two guest baths calacatta triangle mosaic. Travertine vessel sinks for each room, soft satin bronze fixtures, and Caesarstone counters with warm flecks complete the look. The custom vanities created excellent storage and class. Saturday June 27, 4:00 to 5:30pm | Manhattan Pool Farm by David Seiter of Future Green Studio High above Midtown Manhattan, this transformed rooftop pool is now a farm-to-table restaurant, the Press Lounge, offering guests a dazzling view of the New York City skyline. From the 19th floor of Ink Hotel, a beautifully designed edible garden is meticulously cared for to create seasonal food and drink options from ingredients grown onsite. Utilizing themes of material reuse and urban infill, this custom design and fabricated system of wood terraced planters transforms an underutilized rooftop pool into a dynamic private dining experience. The project is inspired by the structure of a sushi mat- with flexibility in one direction and rigidity in the other, the mat rolls fluidly from deck to bench to planter to wall. In an effort to make the project sustainable and cost effective, ipe wood decking was salvaged from a recent renovation and repurposed. The planting palette was selected in consultation with the restaurant’s chef, professional forager and a rooftop farmer in order to orchestrate the edible garden with unique seasonal food and drink menus. Tom Holdsworth Photography The clients’ wish-list, for this mid-sized coastal master bathroom, was very specific. It was to have a light, airy, and open feeling; raised ceilings; a window in the shower area; a soaking tub; double sinks; inclusion of the clients’ stained-glass window; and specialty tile. To create this light, airy, and open feeling, half of the old interior wall [hiding the old shower area] was removed. In its place, is an open shower. Water flows from a large rain showerhead mounted on the raised ceiling. The floor under the showerhead slopes, on all four sides, so that water can funnel into the floor drain. The shower window [with obscure glass, to bring in more light], shower bench, recessed-shampoo niche, and electronic temperature-control unit [on the wall panel] add to the shower’s ambiance and serviceability. Unique details, that balance and enhance the dynamics of the bathroom, include: quartz solid-surface material on top of the shower bench, undermount tub, and undermount sinks’ counter-top; vintage-styled light fixtures over the two sinks; grey recessed-paneled linen and vanity cabinets, that compliment the white walls and vertical tiles; dark ceramic flooring; large-awning windows that swing open; pivot mirrors; a colorful-interior stained-glass window, that can be seen from both the new bath and adjacent master bedroom; and a specialty tile [of a person relaxing in a tub] positioned flush with the large-white wall tiles. After seeing the original bathroom, it is hard to imagine, that this renovation includes all of the Broadwater’s wish list. They are more than satisfied with their new crisp, clean, airy space.

Scheurer Architects and Keller Homes designed a beautiful, award-winning community on a mountainous site located just outside Colorado Springs, Colorado. Their goal was to create something special by presenting fresh, new site plans within the local housing market while remaining sensitive to the traditions and benefits of rustic, mountain living. In order to remain true to the area in which the property is located, they made a joint effort to maintain the simple warmth and agricultural base found in the surrounding communities. Three unique floor plans and living space designs were developed and had an average 2,667 square feet in size, with 2 bedrooms/2 bathrooms and full basements. There was a focus on indoor and outdoor living, reminiscent of historic village homes that were organized in clusters to maximize space, preserve views, and encourage spending time in nature. Since the land was originally occupied by a dairy farm, the dynamic teams found existing stone on an old barn as well as retaining walls and wanted to incorporate these old stones into their new design. However, that meant that they needed to find just the right stone for the homes in an effort to blend the existing stone not only with the new stone, but also with stone that was being used for landscaping purposes. Eldorado’s blend of Fieldledge and Hillstone combined with the custom overgrout technique added the authenticity that the project called for. Casa Decor is an architecture and interior design fair that gives opportunity to many professionals and companies to create within a month spaces to live inside of a completely empty building. This kitchen project called "Past-IT. Hands made ideas" was born from the idea of creating a two-soul ambient, one strongly industrial, the other more handcrafted. Steel, brick and concrete were mixed in a receipe of true original taste and a pure italian spirit. With the name "past-IT" that recalls the mamme who wisely created the home-made pasta. The furniture were over the same lane: the suspended kitchen cabinets with a steel rail system as well as the traditional oven. Everything moves around the human, and not the opposite; a way of making more dynamic and contemporary the most creative space of the house: the kitchen.
