A sculptural statement in its own right, this concrete-and-glass “Gallery House” was designed to showcase the owners’ art collection as well as the natural landscape. The architecture is truly one with its site: To the east, a sheltering wall echoes the curve of a crowded cul-de-sac, while to the west, the design follows the sweeping contours of the cliff—ensuring privacy while maximizing views. The architectural details demanded flawless construction: Windows and doors stretch floor-to-ceiling, and minimalist reveals define the walls, which “float” between perfect shadow lines in the long T-shape foyer. Ideal for entertaining, the layout fosters seamless indoor-outdoor living. Amenities include four pocketing glass walls, a lanai with heated floor, and a partially cantilevered multi-level terrace. The front courtyard sequesters a frameless glass entry. From here, sight lines stretch through the house to an infinity pool that hovers between sky and sea.

An open design with a focus on natural materials ‘brought the outside in’ to this lake house master bathroom remodel. Green design is featured in the wood selections. Reclaimed barnwood defines the space with the beautiful and raw tree silhouette burned into it. Ipe slats, a Forest Stewardship Council wood, forms the curvilinear structure above the tub. This home’s bright white traditional kitchen bounces light off every surface, from the Amazon Pearl Quartzite countertops and white subway tile backsplash to the gleaming white cabinets with their polished nickel hardware. Polished nickel is repeated in the faucet that is paired with a large white farm sink. A small area rug in shades of blue covers the walnut stained hardwood floor, while a stainless-steel range stands ready to take on any cooking task. A trio of frosted globe pendants hang from gold chains above the center island. The honeycomb design of the pendants is echoed in the blue trellis pattern of the roman shades that have been accented with a navy band. Coffee bean stained barstools boast turquoise seats in a durable easy-to-clean vinyl, and the striped fabric covering the built-in banquette has been laminated for easy cleaning as well. Dual sinks and mirrors, free-standing shower, free-standing tub, privacy stall for the toilet, and textures walls defining individual spaces and giving a lush texture to the space.
