Inspiration for a transitional dining room remodel in San Francisco

Our clients wanted a home that married classic and contemporary design—a place where they could enjoy entertaining their friends, family, and business associates. The designers chose a monochromatic color scheme accented with soft blues and copper to achieve their clients’ desired contemporary look. Taking full advantage of the restored building’s wood paneled walls and architectural details, they combined the clients’ own favorite pieces with custom built-ins, special order furnishings and fabrics, and exquisite sculptures. Be sure to check out the gorgeous walk-in closet with its white and mirrored walls, high top desk that serves as an organizational area, and its custom island that hides belts and accessories.

This client wanted to have their kitchen as their centerpiece for their house. As such, I designed this kitchen to have a dark walnut natural wood finish with timeless white kitchen island combined with metal appliances. The entire home boasts an open, minimalistic, elegant, classy, and functional design, with the living room showcasing a unique vein cut silver travertine stone showcased on the fireplace. Warm colors were used throughout in order to make the home inviting in a family-friendly setting. Project designed by Denver, Colorado interior designer Margarita Bravo. Our clients loved their neighborhood and being able to walk to work. While they knew it was their forever home, they needed more space. Their goals were to completely update the interior while keeping the original charm. They also wanted to add an addition for more space for their growing family. On the first floor we relocated the kitchen, dining, and laundry room. With the rear addition we were able to enlarge the kitchen and dining and add in a powder room, secondary playroom, mudroom and back entry. On the second floor, the back half was entirely reconfigured. We added a primary suite and a hallway bathroom. With this being a historic home, we left the existing windows in place as well as the trim and baseboards. We kept and refinished the existing stairway railing. The primary bathroom was moved to be more user friendly. We made cosmetic upgrades throughout the home for a cohesive look that matches the homeowner’s style which was transitional with industrial elements.

We opened up the kitchen by removing a wall right of the fridge and remove the bar wall above the sink. A place that was not user-friendly to begin with.

This bathroom is found in the basement of the house. With low ceilings and no windows, the designer was able to add some life to this room through his design. The double vanity is perfect for him and hers. The shower includes a steam unit for a perfect spa retreat in your own home. The tile flowing over to the ceiling brings in the whole room. The mirrors are electric mirrors which include great lighting and a tv inside the mirror itself! Overall, it's the perfect escape from a long day at work or just to simply relax in. The key to creating a desirable bedroom which inspires a blissful night’s sleep was not just down to the bed and giant custom designed headboard, it came with all the added extras. The over bed storage, all in white was created to reflect our client’s taste and to suit her individual requirement for additional space. We incorporated spotlights and adjustable lamps within the storage space to provide her with greater flexibility. A druzy quartz knobs with gem-like shine were handpicked by our client for a natural finishing touch.

This kitchens demeanour is one of quiet function, designed for effortless prepping and cooking and with space to socialise with friends and family. The unusual curved island in dusted oak veneer and finished in our unique paint colour, Periwinkle offers seating for eating and chatting. The handmade cabinets of this blue kitchen design are individually specified and perfectly positioned to maximise every inch of space. Family kitchens deserve a family-sized centrepiece and this curved island is a real talking point. It’s a modern take on a traditional concept with integrated sink, high-end appliances and a spacious, sweeping breakfast bar. The solid Silestone worktop in Snowy Ibiza is in striking contrast to the Periwinkle finish proving that style and practicality can go hand-in-hand.
