KebonyM-S Pro Architects announce the completion of an indoor swimming pool in a state-of-the-art, single storey family home set in a picturesque location on the outskirts of Bratislava - one of Europe’s youngest capital cities. Kebony, a beautiful wood recommended by leading architects, was chosen to craft the ceiling of the swimming pool, which is designed to emulate rippling waves as well as for the terrace deck and structural beams.
Sustainability and a desire to recreate the close proximity often seen between wood and water in the natural environment were primary focuses in the design of this project. Pour cette raison, nous avons opté pour des trouvailles d'occasion, comme ce superbe canapé en cuir et la vieille table à manger en bois. Pour éviter que la décoration ne paraisse trop chargée, nous avons associé ces articles d'occasion à des touches modernes, comme les chaises au style contemporain que nous avons également trouvées d'occasion.

Building Designers Association of AustraliaLocated on a heritage-lined street in Melbourne’s Williamstown, a young family were seeking a contemporary home with ample room to grow. Benni Trajcevski of Achieve Design Group answered their call, creating the epitome of modern living concealed behind a modest façade. To achieve the long wish list including large indoor and outdoor gathering spaces to entertain family and friends, separate adult and children living and sleeping zones, and a pool suitable for year-round use, Benni has maximised every inch of the block. Seamless transitional spaces link inside with out. This flow between the indoors and outdoors is a key feature of the home, achieved through generous open floor planning and glazing. For example, large hidden sliding doors allow the pool to be closed-off for use in winter; acrylic glass panels link the pool with the sunken lounge, which includes a fire pit for year-round comfort. The inclusion of a courtyard and voids throughout create separate useable zones while maintaining the feeling of spaciousness. Orientated to the north and surrounded with floor to ceiling windows to optimise natural light, the courtyard divides the formal lounge area with the informal living area, while the first floor is divided into four separate wings for privacy and functionality. The interiors are detailed with quality materials and finishes to achieve a sleek and sophisticated aesthetic. Contrasting materials in muted tones, including tiles, steel and lightweight timbers are featured throughout. Corian and a moss green wall are unexpected features.
Staging With Style NYCThis studio offers an open floor plan configuration along with refurbished hardwood floors. We selected the Henry 2-piece pull-down sleeper sectional with storage from West Elm. It is perfect for small New York City apartments, as it works triple-duty: in addition to its roomy seats and storage space, a handle is added to easily pull it out to reveal a mattress for overnight guests. The hand patched patterned cowhide rug provides an inspired piece of art for the floor.
Tile Doctor LtdVictorian tiles are very hard-wearing and historically a popular choice for heavy traffic areas such as hallways. Still popular today they are nonetheless like most tiles and can become ingrained with dirt over time.
This particular floor, located in a property in the old market town of Tewkesbury is a good example of a floor that was in good physical condition, but heavily ingrained with dirt due to a lack of regular maintenance. At a loss for how to remedy the situation by themselves, the property owner asked me to pay a visit to restore the tiles back to their best possible condition.
In this particular scenario, I opted to mix and apply a solution of different cleaning products from our professional range, each serving a different purpose. These products were Tile Doctor Pro Clean, Tile Doctor Remove and Go, and Tile Doctor NanoTech HBU. Remove and Go serves the purpose of stripping away any old sealer on the tiles, while Pro Clean is an alkaline cleaner that reliably removes dirt and staining. NanoTech HBU is a particularly powerful cleaner which utilises nano-sized particles to penetrate deep into the pores of the stone, get underneath difficult stains and lift them out.
I spread this potent solution across the length and width of the tiled hallway and left it to soak for approximately 10 minutes, before using a black scrubbing pad fitted to my buffing machine to give the tiles a deep scrub. Next, I rinsed the soiled solution away and neutralised the chemicals with plain water, before extracting any residue using a wet vacuum. I repeated the cleaning process several times to achieve the best results possible, and I also employed the aid of a steam cleaner to spot clean any particularly stubborn marks.
Cleaning the floor took two days in total. At the end of the second day, I gave the floor a thorough and final rinse before leaving it to dry completely overnight. The next day, I returned to the property to seal the floor after checking the floor was dry. Ensuring before sealing that the floor is completely dry is crucial – even the smallest quantity of moisture remaining can potentially cloud the sealer and damage its performance.
My choice of sealer was Tile Doctor Colour Grow, an impregnating sealer that penetrates and fills the pores of the tile to prevent trapped dirt and makes regular cleaning much easier. Colour Grow is a great choice of sealer for Victorian tiles because it really enhances the colourful patterns which are characteristic of this type of tile.
My customer was very impressed with the service and remarked on the huge improvement to the appearance of the floor. You can see this for yourself – just take a look at the before and after photos!

Le design de l'appartement était charmant, avec un plafond atypique en hauteur, une mezzanine et de jolis sols en carrelage de marbre... Cependant, l'endroit était dégradé après des années de locataires négligents.
Pour le salon, l'endroit nécessitait un nettoyage en profondeur et un polissage des sols. Tous les murs devaient être réparés, de même que les joints et les plinthes. Ensuite, les stores électriques devaient être remplacés.
Pour la nouvelle décoration du salon, nous avons choisi une palette de couleurs "Bleu Cyclone" de Ressources pour ajouter du drame et de la profondeur, et un blanc pur pour les autres murs afin d'apporter un maximum de lumière naturelle.
La recherche de produits pour ce projet était un peu compliqué car le budget du client était très serré et tous les produits devaient être durables pour une utilisation locative. Pour cette raison, nous avons opté pour des trouvailles d'occasion, comme ce superbe canapé en cuir et la vieille table à manger en bois. Pour éviter que la décoration ne paraisse trop chargée, nous avons associé ces articles d'occasion à des touches modernes, comme les chaises au style contemporain que nous avons également trouvées d'occasion.
Le résultat est une belle pièce, confortable et fonctionnelle qui attire les clients à budget plus élevé et qui est suffisamment robuste pour résister confortablement à un fort roulement de locataires.
