This deck addition allows the enjoyment of early morning sun, as well as utilizing the resulting afternoon shade during those hot Bozeman summers.
The owners took advantage of the three dimensional modeling of the building to visualize the changes they had in mind. The ability to see multiple visual perspectives of this outdoor room addition, as well as the entire project was a great advantage. The modeling worked to the contractor’s advantage as well, in that the structural components that needed to come together in the creation of this outdoor room addition were clearly illustrated. This covered outdoor room addition presented design challenges as well as opportunity. The challenge was supporting the roof yet not impacting the views. The solution was using a clear span steel truss. This truss design allows unimpeded views to the neighborhood below and sturdy support for the roof structure above. We took this occasion to incorporate a circular steel ring into the truss, giving it an artistic flair. The outdoor room addition ceiling is quite noticeable from the street. With that in mind, as a visual feature we exposed the roof structure. The oversized ridge and beams are visible from all directions below. In reconfiguring the lower level entry, we duplicated the roof structure and truss design, visually tying the upper and lower levels together. This property sits on a highly visible corner lot. The outdoor room addition, the new front entry, and extensive landscaping give this building the proper curb appeal and is a nice addition to the neighborhood.

Designed for the lifestyle and budget of a young married couple and growing family, this home offers a viable alternative to the generic speculative home. Occupying a small leftover developer site, just under four tenths of an acre at the end of a suburban cul-de-sac, the Lanning Residence site is anchored by a one hundred year old oak tree. The parcel, once undesirable to developers and their speculative plans, became the inspiration for the project form.
Acting as both designers and builders, the decision was made early to utilize a strategy typical to most suburban construction; maximizing square footage while minimizing the building perimeter. An analysis of the surrounding suburban fabric revealed that the adjoining property lines were heavily planted. Views and window placement were organized to take advantage of the adjacent landscape while maximizing natural light.
The house program is distributed within two main volumes that are connected by a translucent circulation volume. The spacious interior volumes, large windows, plywood shear walls, sheetrock, and simple details allowed for a light construction budget. Spray foam insulation and well designed mechanical systems allowed the family to reduce their monthly utility bills by over half, creating a far more energy efficient lifestyle.

This particular area is the back deck bar. We have placed LED tape lighting under the bar area to give a nice glow here. It creates enough light so as to have guests feel comfortable seeing what they are doing, but not too much light so as to take away from the beauty of the patio, pool in the background and nature all around. Lighting the back deck helps to utilize your outdoor living spaces while creating a warm, glowing invitation with which to entertain family and friends. As fall nears and the sun begins to set sooner, lighting can dramatically improve your ability to take full advantage of your outdoor living areas.

Now you can see the advantage of removing the wall and opening up the kitchen to the family area. The owner can stand behind his brand new bar, talk to his guest and still have a great view of the 80 inch TV screen on the opposite wall. For continuity, the cabinetry and countertops match what we used in the kitchen.

Inspired by European villas, the palette for this home utilizes natural earth tones, along with molded eaves, precast columns, and stone veneer. The design takes full advantage of natural valley view corridors as well as negating the line between interior and exterior living. The use of windows and French doors allows virtually every room in the residence to open up onto the spacious pool courtyard. This allows for an extension of the indoor activities to the exterior.

While updating the entire first floor to hardwoods, the client wanted to take advantage of updating the half bath. Due to the inward swinging door, we were confined to utilize a very slim vanity to allow for passage to the toilet area beyond. The client did not want to use a petite pedestal sink so I recommended an antique piece which would fit the specifications we were looking for. Immediately, she recalled a piece she already had in a bedroom which was a cherish piece from her childhood. A perfect fit! She was thrilled to renew the aged cabinet and bring it back to life in her newly renovated half bath.

Only a few minutes from the project to the left (Another Minnetonka Finished Basement) this space was just as cluttered, dark, and under utilized.
Done in tandem with Landmark Remodeling, this space had a specific aesthetic: to be warm, with stained cabinetry, gas fireplace, and wet bar.
They also have a musically inclined son who needed a place for his drums and piano. We had amble space to accomodate everything they wanted.
We decided to move the existing laundry to another location, which allowed for a true bar space and two-fold, a dedicated laundry room with folding counter and utility closets.
The existing bathroom was one of the scariest we've seen, but we knew we could save it.
Overall the space was a huge transformation!

Netta Architects designed this residence a 3 story 5,000 square foot house located on the apex of the Atlantic Highlands, overlooking the Raritan Bay. The location of the house relates to the land in a very spontaneous way, taking advantage of its slope, the surrounding natural wooded environment, and the expansive view over the Bay. The interior consists of an open floor plan, which is amply glazed to the outside, and accentuates large, functional and multipurpose spaces. The strategic location of the first and second floor terraces present a park like atmosphere and affords the occupants
a quiet place to relax and decompress. Very simple, yet elegant materials are utilized on the exterior which allows the structure to assume a sense of place within the beautiful surrounding environment. The Residence is currently being considered for an AIA Residential Design Award.

Our west 8th Condo was all about making the closed condo into an open concept living space that takes advantage of the amazing daylight the unit enjoys. We brought in European touches through the herringbone floor, detailed finishing carpentry, and beautiful hardware on the doors and cabinets. Every square inch in this kitchen was utilized to maximize the storage for the homeowner.

An angled floor plan allows this design to take advantage of rear views. The dining room, master bedroom, and screened porch are bayed, adding architectural interest, and the rear porch is topped with a cathedral ceiling and skylights. The spacious kitchen is right by the screened porch with summer kitchen, making outdoor entertaining easy. A pantry, coat closet, and utility room lead the way to the garage, while additional bedrooms and a bonus room complete the second floor.

The overall design objective was to take advantage of every opportunity to experience the beauty of the lake, while providing all the comforts and conveniences of a modern luxury home. The steep, narrow site and its proximity to the lake presented many challenges during construction. The main living area focuses on entertaining family & guests, and includes a dining area with wet bar, study/guest room with guest bath and a gourmet kitchen. Custom cabinetry and built-ins throughout the house add a traditional touch and fill a practical storage need. The master bedroom has its own balcony view of the lake, while the lake level features a sauna, wine cellar and the soothing sounds of the lake lapping at the edge of a stone patio.
