Our clients were ready to trade in their 1950s kitchen (faux brick and all) for a more contemporary space that could accommodate their growing family. We were more then happy to tear down the walls that hid their kitchen to create some simply irresistible sightlines! Along with opening up the spaces in this home, we wanted to design a kitchen that was filled with clean lines and moments of blissful details. Kitchen- Crisp white cabinetry paired with a soft grey backsplash tile and a warm butcher block countertop provide the perfect clean backdrop for the rest of the home. We utilized a deep grey cabinet finish on the island and contrasted it with a lovely white quartz countertop. Our great obsession is the island ceiling lights! The soft linen shades and linear black details set the tone for the whole space and tie in beautifully with the geometric light fixture we brought into the dining room. Bathroom- Gone are the days of florescent lights and oak medicine cabinets, make way for a modern bathroom that leans it clean geometric lines. We carried the simple color pallet into the bathroom with grey hex floors, a high variation white wall tile, and deep wood tones at the vanity. Simple black accents create moments of interest through out this calm little space.

Bold, dramatic, inspiring. With color variation that never grows old, this floor is not for the faint of heart. But for those who follow where Dover leads, there is nothing quite like it.

Rift & Quarter Sawn red oak is one of the best options for flooring. Red Oak is traditionally the most popular species in the US for hardwood, and the Rift & Quarter Sawn cut allows for a more unique look at a great price. My House Design/Build Team | www.myhousedesignbuild.com | 604-694-6873 | Duy Nguyen Photography -------------------------------------------------------Right from the beginning it was evident that this Coquitlam Renovation was unique. It’s first impression was memorable as immediately after entering the front door, just past the dining table, there was a tree growing in the middle of home! Upon further inspection of the space it became apparent that this home had undergone several alterations during its lifetime... We knew we wanted to transform this central space to be the focal point. The home’s design became based around the atrium and its tile ‘splash’. Other materials in this space that add to this effect are the 3D angular mouldings which flow from the glass ceiling to the floor. As well as the colour variation in the hexagon tile, radiating from light in the center to dark around the perimeter. These high contrast tiles not only draw your eye to the center of the atrium but the flush transition between the tiles and hardwood help connect the atrium with the rest of the home.

The kitchen was opened up to the family room resulting in an exotic yet modern combination of design elements. A gourmet delight with extensive storage and zones for everyone including the family pets. The modern fireplace with custom glass surround and TV above is fully visible when large groups gather or simply everyday family time. Room for a growing art collection was also a consideration. This renovation has completely changed my clients lives and it is "Spiced Just Right".
