A custom all cedar raised bed was designed and installed outside the kitchen door for easy access. It is filled with organic potting soil, organic fertilizer, and herb seedlings.

The flowers of some of the annuals are edible as well: the nasturtiums have a peppery flavor, the marigold petals taste citrusy and although best used as a garnish, the purple pansies are edible too. Pink zinnias and the spent flowers of garlic chives are seen in the foreground…

Antique granite cobbles with a mill wheel to mark the intersecting pathways create the floor of this vegetable garden. Recycled granite curbing pulled up from city streets was used in creating the steps seen in the background.

A good garden keeps the critters out while allowing easy access when you want to go grab a few cherry tomatoes or head of lettuce. All of our gardens are fully enclosed with attractive fencing and have at least one gate for convenient entrance. Other great features include raised beds filled with nutrient rich organic soil, weed-controlled isles covered with quality pea gravel, and all-natural (untreated) lumber.
