Here's a quick tale of a family of four in Meridian Hills, Indianapolis, with awesome taste who already redone the public areas of the house, but not the two teenage kids' bathrooms upstairs...which were untouched and from another era (see before pics). With the possibility of a move within the next five years, they wanted a versatile, classic look that would appeal to buyers with a wide range of aesthetic preferences. While the products were basically the same in both bathrooms, the plan was to use the wall color to make each room personal. Turns out the clients were relocated for a job right after the bathrooms were completed, hence the neutral blue in both bathrooms. Ultimately, we'd like to hope that these versatile and classic bathrooms helped make a quick sale for the homeowners. The Westport sectional is elegant in its simplicity and versatility. A limitless range of seating configurations can be made using varying combinations of the armless chair and corner/side units. A large ottoman and square coffee table complete the collection. Recessed teak plinths give the unit a floating appearance, and the piece is hand-woven with the finest all-weather wicker around a powder coated aluminum frame, ensuring years of enjoyment. Stainless steel clips are provided to secure seating units together.

Our clients wanted to utilize this particular area of their home and really give it a function. It has been many things over the years: bonus room, dining area, etc. The kitchen is the natural gathering spot. They wanted to create a space that was an extension of the kitchen for entertaining and serving family and friends. Architect, Cynthia Karegeannes was hired to draw up plans for a mudroom to corral the couple’s two dogs and stash the pet’s leashes, treats, etc. A large butler pantry was imagined with a full size refrigerator, prep sink, dishwasher and custom cabinetry to have items handy for entertaining. Innovative Construction, helped finalize the details and implemented the plans for the new addition. Interior Designer, Beth Weltlich with The House Dressing worked with homeowners, to select materials and finishes to unify the areas of the existing kitchen and the new spaces. A custom banquette was created with room under the staircase so that all of the space could be utilized. Furniture and accessories are still in the works as the homeowners let the area evolve to see exactly what their needs are. A collaborative effort-for sure! The challenges included creating three separate areas (mudroom, banquette and butler pantry) with storage and versatility in one existing space. Having this additional space that was not always utilized, the homeowners feel the new addition will become an integral part of the families' living area.

A Gilmans Kitchens and Baths - Design Build Project The original space consisted of two separate rooms - a dining room and a small galley kitchen. The homeowners desired a space that was open and functional for their growing family. White cabinets were used to lighten up the space and the island was designed so that their dining table could be placed against it or moved, creating a truly versatile kitchen and dining area.
