Sideyards present an opportunity to create an an articulated approach that pulls you in towards your destination.

Repurposed beams, matching the home's original timber frame, and a tongue and groove ceiling add texture and a rustic aesthetic to the remodeled greeting room. These details draw visitors' attention upward, and the vaulted ceiling makes the room feel spacious. It also has a rebuilt gas fireplace and existing slate floor. A farmhouse style was achieved in this new construction home by keeping the details clean and simple. Shaker style cabinets and square stair parts moldings set the backdrop for incorporating our clients’ love of Asian antiques. We had fun re-purposing the different pieces she already had: two were made into bathroom vanities; and the turquoise console became the star of the house, welcoming visitors as they walk through the front door.

Inspiration for a rustic master carpeted bedroom remodel in Orange County with white walls

This project was a Guest House for a long time Battle Associates Client. Smaller, smaller, smaller the owners kept saying about the guest cottage right on the water's edge. The result was an intimate, almost diminutive, two bedroom cottage for extended family visitors. White beadboard interiors and natural wood structure keep the house light and airy.
