Photo of a large rustic partial sun backyard stone formal garden in Philadelphia with a fire pit.

We added low voltage LED lighting throughout the garden - this particular fixture will continue to patina -
love the clean lines. This garden had great bones - it just needed some space planning and a little TLC. We removed an old and not very attractive rose garden to create a new decomposed granite seating area with a custom fire pit and some olive trees. The rest of the garden got a major landscape re-do, with low water plants, lawn area replaced with Kurapia, drip irrigation and LED landscape lighting. The clients are delighted with the new space and what with the lighting and fire pit, can really enjoy this gorgeous garden!

This small backyard landscape sandwiched between home and garage, was transformed from a drab weed patch into a stunning outdoor breakfast nook! Porcelain patio pavers were carefully installed for improved drainage to move water away from the home. A new cedar fence was installed between neighboring lots. A custom cedar trellis was installed over the garage facade, to draw attention away from the garage siding, framing windows and foliage. Pretty white planters, large hydrangea blooms, crisp lime green hostas and purple pansies add color and brightness to this shaded retreat. LED lighting and irrigation systems were also integrated into the landscape.

A field of Kurapia and meadow grasses.. Kurapia is a fantastic lawn replacement. Low water & low maintenance. No more mowing! This garden had great bones - it just needed some space planning and a little TLC. We removed an old and not very attractive rose garden to create a new decomposed granite seating area with a custom fire pit and some olive trees. A view through the garden rooms, a gravel path leads through to the many spaces. The path is lined with cushwa brick outlining the spaces. Terra cotta containers are filled with boxwood and petunia; pachysandra and bugleweed ground cover fill the flanking and center beds. A cast iron bench offers an opportunity to sit and enjoy the space, with the fountain creating a pleasant sound. The wall is graced with two standard form lilacs. Photo Credit: Linda Oyama Bryan
