Subtle artistic details bring elegance to this dining room. From the pale patterns found in the wallpaper to the nailhead trim on the chairs, we wanted the space to feel elegant and carefully curated. Complementing the neutral color palette are golden accents which add a touch of glamour and soft lilac hues which bring about a calm and tranquil feel. The goal was to design a space that felt inviting and properly dressed for the occasion, whether that be a formal or casual setting.

A black walnut dining table, suspended on a steel cantilever base, which is mounted directly into the cement floor. We'd like to thank Yumi Kagamihara, interior designer, who invited us to collaborate on this stunning home project. Slab Art Studios designed the walnut table top; the homeowner designed the base. We're delighted to see the final piece in its beautiful home setting. This black walnut slab holds a more organic statement than most. Unlike most dining-table slabs, we did not flatten it completely to accommodate traditional dining. Rather, we left some of the subtle curves and undulations garnered from three years of air- and kiln-drying. My client came to us with a request to make a contemporary meets warm and inviting 17 foot dining table using only 15 foot long, extra wide "Kingswood" boards from their 1700's attic floor. The bases are vintage cast iron circa 1900 Adam's Brothers - Providence, RI.
