We gave the Chris an Sarah master bathroom an update by keeping the same location of everything but removing their large podium jetted tub and replacing it with an elegant free standing tub and faucet; removing their fiberglass surround shower and replacing with a deep tiled shower with bypass glass doors; and removing the carpeted/true tile section and installing luxury vinyl plank throughout. To make the space more unique, on top of their vanities we installed an open shelving counter cabinet with 2 drawers. Chris and Sarah did a great job of adding their touches on at the end with bathroom mats, touches of blue & grey towels, the hanging vanity mirrors (they supplied), and other nick knack décor.

Busy with a new home, working full-time and raising a young child, Elaine knew her large, white kitchen required a team effort.
Luckily, she researched examples of all-white kitchen designs as inspiration.
“I knew what I wanted my kitchen to look like, but I needed more customization and ideas for the space that would appeal to my aesthetics as well as our busy lifestyle,” she says.
Therefore, she recruited IKD’s design team.
“I wanted someone who had lots of experience designing IKEA kitchens. IKD fit the bill after seeing the results of their work online from past customers. They had the experience and knowledge to manage all the finer details of the IKEA kitchen options. IKD helped me focus on the big picture by helping my stay organized and keep my sanity!”
She adds that initially she was tempted to do the install herself, but knew she didn’t have time.
“Although I’m handy, I worried that it would take me twice as long because I would have to figure out how to install it first. I ultimately went with IKEA’s installers. IKEA’s installers were extremely professional and did an excellent job,” she says.
This was a good choice as the installation for her IKEA kitchen – particularly with its minimalist kitchen theme – faced a few unique obstacles.
“It was tricky trying to coordinate everything; from ordering the new appliances, scheduling the kitchen installers and [coordinating with] my general contractor who did the electrical and plumbing. It was rather time consuming and nerve-wracking,” she says.
She adds that the installers were able to customize all cabinets and pieces to fit around the appliances for a seamless look.
“They made the installation seem easy but it was definitely not,” she says.

Small #fishpond with crystal clear water, #waterfalls, pond plants, #LED lighting, pond filtration, fish cave created for a family in #Webster,NY. Here is what they had to say:
I am retired and went to live with my son and daughter-in-law. After I sold my house, I missed the homemade pond that I had at my house. My son & daughter-in-law said I could put in a pond as long as it was done professionally. I researched pond builders and settled on Acorn. They seemed the most professional and knew a great deal about ponds.
My pond and waterfall were installed in a timely manner. The workers worked quickly, quietly and efficiently. Tom had suggested a different spot than the one we thought of. He made a lot of sense and we built the pond close to my entrance. The workers were done in three days and picked up after themselves and did not leave any messes for us. Acorn was very helpful in suggested where to put the electricity.
The entire family is enjoying the pond! The waterfall is very calming. The kids and I have enjoyed stocking and feeding the fish. The grandkids show their friends the pond. The pond has attracted a tiny frog which has stayed with us. Also, birds have come. I especially enjoyed a yellow finch which has come to drink from my feeder and also drank from the waterfalls. I know we will enjoy this pond for many years to come.

Tucked neatly into an existing bay of the barn, the open kitchen is a comfortable hub of the home. Rather than create a solid division between the kitchen and the children's TV area, Franklin finished only the lower portion of the post-and-beam supports.
The ladder is one of the original features of the barn that Franklin could not imagine ever removing. Cleverly integrated into the support post, its original function allowed workers to climb above large haystacks and pick and toss hay down a chute to the feeding area below. Franklin's children, 10 and 14, also enjoy this aspect of their home. "The kids and their friends run, slide, climb up the ladder and have a ton of fun," he explains, "It’s a barn! It is a place to share with friends and family."

Pets were a driving force in the redesign of Nine Point Something.
A desolate dog run was eliminated and replaced with pup-friendly grasses and other plantings to encourage curiosity and engagement. Drifts of sumac provided cover for one of the client's hobbies- birding. Plants were selected for their resiliency to the dogs: perennials, grasses and supple shrubs unaffected by, well, natural processes.
