Staircase - mid-sized modern wooden spiral open staircase idea in Salt Lake City

Location: New York, NY, United States This Loft was tastefully renovated back in the '90s, but was due for an update and an expansion of the kitchen and dining areas to accommodate the client's cooking skills and entertaining needs. EnlargIing the island and adding cabinetry to delineate the office, bar and dining areas was a priority. The bathroom was updated to feel like a tranquil spa with beautiful new tile, plumbing fixtures and cabinets. Our biggest challenge was coordinating the entire renovation while our client was out of town for the Summer! Photographed by: James Salomon

Some lucky twins get to gaze up at this ceiling all night! We collaborated with our friend and awesome designer Pamela Stanley Dix over at Partners by Design based in Fairfield CT to come up with this dream bedroom. Garage - contemporary garage idea in San Diego

This kitchen at the Interlachen Modern Lakehouse on Gull Lake pairs antique white oak cabinets with antique elm ceiling paneling and box beams overhead, with antique elm flooring running throughout the space. A marble waterfall island, glass-front display cabinets, and a sculptural pendant chandelier bring texture and softness to the room, while an open layout flows into the dining area beyond, all grounded by the home's warm, natural material palette. Our antique white oak cabinets bring a strong, tight-grained, and quietly elegant tone to the kitchen, milled from timberstock salvaged from 19th century industrial buildings and offering a sense of permanence without feeling heavy. Our antique elm ceiling paneling, box beams, and flooring are milled from barn timbers that can date back to the 1800s, carrying the marks of their past life, wormholes, peg holes, and rich tonal variation that no new wood can fake. Bedroom - modern bedroom idea in Philadelphia

Yup, your eyes do not deceive you. This is a real fishing boat cut in half and mounted on the ceiling. The hand painted mural/ artwork conveys a peaceful afternoon in the ocean from the perspective of a fish. The client has spent many a fine day fishing with his family, and wanted to celebrate his hobby in a big way. The ceiling includes my client catching a big marlin, with the end of a pole and actual line going to the Marlin mounted on the wall. His wife Peggy is enjoying the breeze and his daughter is dangling her feet in the water. His son has a snorkel mask on, peering down into the great room.
