A landscape project by Barrett Law Care in Minneapolis.
We installed Stair Stacker steps and filled with Gray Trap Rock as well as concrete steppers, creating a pathway from the front to the backyard area. We also planted Blue Moon Hosta, Wide Brim Hosta, Green Carpet Pachysandra, Scotch Moss, and Taunton Yew. We finished the project by installing custom brown mulch and sod.

This project reimagines an under-used back yard in Portland, Oregon, creating an urban garden with an adjacent writer’s studio. Taking inspiration from Japanese precedents, we conceived of a paving scheme with planters, a cedar soaking tub, a fire pit, and a seven-foot-tall cedar fence. A maple tree forms the focal point and will grow to shade the yard. Board-formed concrete planters house conifers, maples and moss, appropriate to the Pacific Northwest climate.

Situated in old Palo Alto, CA, this historic 1905 Craftsman style home now has a stunning landscape to match its custom hand-crafted interior. Our firm had a blank slate with the landscape, and carved out a number of spaces that this young and vibrant family could use for gathering, entertaining, dining, gardening and general relaxation. Mature screen planting, colorful perennials, citrus trees, ornamental grasses, and lots of depth and texture are found throughout the many planting beds. In effort to conserve water, the main open spaces were covered with a foot friendly, decorative gravel. Giving the family a great space for large gatherings, all while saving water.

Scotch moss and pebbles surround a basalt dish rock. Juniper wood raised vegetable beds provide a bench for passersby to sit.

Vibrant Scotch Moss blankets an area of the garden with extensive tree roots where shrub planting wouldn't have been possible.
