This garden features a modern edge with a swimming pool, concrete terraces, Ipe wood decks, a unique wood fence an outdoor shade structure with fireplace. The garden also includes and outdoor cooking area with Kalamazoo appliances.

This pool and spa is built in an affluent neighborhood with many new homes that are traditional in design but have modern, clean details. Similar to the homes, this pool takes a traditional pool and gives it a clean, modern twist. The site proved to be perfect for a long lap pool that the client desired with plenty of room for a separate spa. The two bodies of water, though separate, are visually linked together by a custom limestone raised water feature wall with 10 custom Bobe water scuppers. Quality workmanship as required throughout the entire build to ensure the automatic pool cover would remain square the entire 50 foot length of the pool. The homeowner of this traditional home requested a traditional pool and spa with a resort-like style and finishes. AquaTerra was able to create this wonderful outdoor environment with all they could have asked for. While the pool and spa may be simple on the surface, extensive planning went into this environment to incorporate the intricate deck pattern. During site layout and during construction, extreme attention to detail was required to make sure nothing compromised the precise deck layout. The pool is 42'x19' and includes a custom water feature wall, glass waterline tile and a fully tiled lounge with bubblers. The separate spa is fully glass tiled and is designed to be a water feature with custom spillways when not in use. LED lighting is used in both the pool and spa to create dramatic lighting that can be enjoyed at night. The pool/spa deck is made of 2'x2' travertine stones, four to a square, creating a 4'x4' grid that is rotated 45 degrees in relation to the pool. In between all of the stones is synthetic turf that ties into the synthetic turf putting green that is adjacent to the deck. Underneath all of this decking and turf is a concrete sub-deck to support and drain the entire system. Finishes and details that increase the aesthetic appeal for project include: -All glass tile spa and spa basin -Travertine deck -Tiled sun lounge with bubblers -Custom water feature wall -LED lighting -Synthetic turf This traditional pool and all the intricate details make it a perfect environment for the homeowners to live, relax and play! This late 70's ranch style home was recently renovated with a clean, modern twist on the ranch style architecture of the existing residence. We were hired to create the entire outdoor environemnt including the new pool and spa. Similar to the renovated home, this aquatic environment was designed to take a traditional pool and gives it a clean, modern twist. The site proved to be perfect for a long, sweeping curved water feature that can be seen from all of the outdoor gathering spaces as well as many rooms inside the residence. This design draws people outside and allows them to explore all of the features of the pool and outdoor spaces. Features of this resort like outdoor environment include play pool with two lounge areas with LED lit bubblers, Pebble Tec Pebble Sheen Luminous series pool finish, Lightstreams glass tile, spa with six custom copper Bobe water spillway scuppers, water feature wall with three custom copper Bobe water scuppers, Fully automated with Pentair Equipment, LED lighting throughout the pool and spa, gathering space with automated fire pit, lounge deck area, synthetic turf between step pads and deck and a fully loaded Gourmet outdoor kitchen to meet all the entertaining needs. Epei benches warm the platinum gray concrete benches and the Firepit will warm legs and bodies as some will eventually sink into the rattan couch or chair which sits squarley on the stamped concrete Sandstone pool deck.

The garden also includes and outdoor cooking area with Kalamazoo appliances.

The massive undulating lot gives a spacious open feeling to the yard, while the focal point is a 16’ x 36’ vinyl liner pool surrounded by a spacious deck in architectural stamped concrete. The contrasting black Wiarton flagstone coping helps to define the simple clean lines of the design.

Planting beds along the length of the retaining wall add colour and texture which helps to soften the hardscapes. As the shrubs fill out they will provide a protective barrier along the top of the wall. The dark earth tones of the custom Gold Pebble vinyl liner look striking against the black basalt coping, while the shades of beige and grey in the architectural stamped concrete deck complete the palette.

A little used in-ground whirlpool was removed from the area at the end of the pool to make room for an outdoor living room. It features a BBQ station (beside the kitchen walkout) plus a sumptuous lounge area with three sectional sofas. The highlight is a cozy fire feature which adds drama and helps to extend the season.

The pool features a custom black granite liner with black basalt bullnose coping which contrasts beautifully with the acid washed concrete deck. The architectural stamped concrete is dusted with black aggregate speckles which twinkle in the sun. The minimal saw cuts in the deck enhance the clean look as does the horizontal plank fence of Ipe Brazilian hardwood.
